Still working great after a year
We use this almost daily, had it for a year, still works as good as the day we bought it. We have not noticed any air loss, seems to keep the wine 'fresh'.

If you can't finish it, save it for later.......
I actually wondered if we would need this tool since we rarely ever have left over wine but...........it's nice to be able to open 2 or 3 different bottles at a time to have your own tasting or to share with friends and then not worry if it will be stale by the next day if you don't finish it all. This product was easy to use. You insert the stopper, put the pump on top of it and pump it until you hear it click. To remove the stopper, you bend the little nipple on the stopper to the side and the vacuum is released. It doesn't get any easier than that. I have laid bottles on their side with the stoppers in place without any leakage at all. The stoppers are easy to clean too. If you've had to drink stale wine in the past for any reason you need this Vacu Vin pump. The stainless steel is a nice touch and the price is right. The Vacu Vin kit goes well with the Oster Electric Bottle Opener (which is a must if you enjoy a lot of wine or have problems with any other type of bottle opener). I was skeptical at first about the 2 pourer's (sp?) that came with this kit due to inexperience with anything like this. The design seemed flawed and when I opened the package, I assumed they were broken. That's certainly not the case. They deliberately have a split neck design so they can fit virtually any sized bottle opening. Function is something we have have all learned to compromise for form these days. These things function as if there were no other reason for their existence. I was amazed at the simplicity at which they work. Not a single drip occurs after you finish the pour. As a matter of fact, instead of dripping on your fancy table cloth or someones lap, it goes back into the bottle, so the function is two-fold. No mess, and no waste! I highly recommend this Vacu Vin Wine Saver Kit. If you only use it once to save a single bottle of expensive red it will pay for itself. And it will probably also work on soda bottles. (although we don't drink much soda in our house, except as mixers). Rob

Another Great Kitchen Gadget
AESTHETICS This is so much more attractive than the plastic white version. This may not matter to some, but it looks beautiful against our gleaming granite countertops vs. a white piece of plastic EXTRAS Comes with 2 non-drip pouring spouts and 2 stoppers EASE OF USE It definitely creates a vacuum inside the bottle. We let our seven year old try it out when it first arrived. We told him it's supposed to make a clicking sound when it's done. He put the stopper on the top of the wine bottle, pumped the handle 30 times (he counted - the bottle was a large bottle of wine used for cooking and only had about a cup of wine left in it) and when it clicked he stopped. He then released the stopper and we heard a whoosh of air rush inside. Our seven-year-old figured it out without further instruction. EFFECTIVENESS Similar to any other air-tight or air-sealing product (Foodsaver vacuum sealing food bags come to mind), keeping air out of the food prevents or greatly reduces oxidation and keeps the flavor of the food or wine, or whatever liquid fresh. Like anything, if you leave food in the fridge, even if you vacu-seal it eventually it goes bad. Vacu-sealing just reduces air contact, thereby reducing the rate of break down = food stays fresher longer. Same with wine. Eventually it's going to vinegarize. This just slows down that process. We haven't left anything on the counter and expected it to remain fresh. So for those who want their wine to remain room temperature, not sure this is going to buy that much extra time. Plus who wants to re-cork an open bottle of wine? Yes they sell ones for that purpose but I'd rather spend my money on a stopper that slows down spoilage :)

I like the 'clicks'!
I'm very happy with the Vacu Vin Stainless Steele Wine Saver. This is my third vacuum seal wine pump...the other ones still work. I like the look of the stainless steel one and I prefer its heft. All three pumps seem to work equally well but what makes this one stand out is the 'clicks' it emits when you've pumped enough. Clearly I've been wasting lots of pumping effort with the other pumps because I continued to pump long past when I could have stopped. This pump gives me confidence in its accuracy, or at least its consistency, because it requires more pumps as less wine, and more air space, is in the bottle. And the quality of the wine stays very good over several days. A curious thing happened recently, however. I live close to sea level, where the pump has always been used. I recently took it camping with me at 7,500 feet. The clicking did not work at all at that elevation. I was concerned that the best feature of the product may have failed after only a short lifespan. But, when I returned home, the clicking has returned again. I wonder if the manufacturer might have an explanation for that.

Best version of this stopper
Have had several of these, but always the plastic version. They always seemed to lose their suction after a while, and not be very usable. This is the first time I've had a stainless steel one and has been much more durable and seems to be of better quality. Have had it for several years and still operating like new. I would say worth the extra initial cost.

They work
This is the latest version of a product I have used for years. The corks have lasted longer than older models, and keep their sealing properties. I have used these for over 2 years and no failures. Have kept an open bottle of white for over 3 weeks, refrigerated, with no loss of flavor.

Couple of pumps and the lid pops removing the air. Just flick the knob on the lid and pour away. Keeps wine fresh for longer

Prodotto intelligente e ben fatto.
