Into the Wild: An Exotic Woodland Coloring Book

Way too many repeats make it boring after a few pages
The media could not be loaded. The good--The paper used in this book is yellow/cream with the parts to color left white, odd at first, but I grew to like it. It's a bit larger in size then most coloring books. The images are, at first glance, gorgeous. Paper is thick, images are on both sides of the paper but I have had no problem with bleeding with pencils, gel pens, or watercolor brushes including Tombows. At the back of the book are the names of the flowers and animals in each page which is quite nice if you try for realism. The bad---The pages are not perforated. The designs do run into the binding making it near impossible to get to. The book does not lay flat. The odd--It seems these illustrations are not hand drawn. I work with photoshop and such programs and it is my opinion that this book is put together using photoshop brushes. What this means is that every pine cone, every hibiscus, every plumeria, etc. is exactly the same. The author rotates the brush so that at first glance it appears to be facing a different direction, or enlarges or shrinks them so they are different sizes, but it is still the exact same item. I picked up on this the third time I colored the same flower (on different pages). There are also many pages, banners, side pieces, etc. which are the exact same banner or piece from a previous page. On one double spread, repeating items are used four times. I tired to upload a second video showing this but it's not allowed so just look carefully at the pages in the first one. What this means when you're coloring is that you do the exact same thing over and over and over again with not the slightest variation. At first I didn't mind this as it gave me an opportunity to try a new color scheme or technique, but now, after doing multiple pages, I'm just bored out of my mind.Another oddity is that things are not to scale. A betta fish (small in reality) is bigger than a leopard that is in the same image/page.And the last thing I find odd is that some of the animals are in greyscale, while on the same page another animal is an illustration. So while I originally loved this book, as time goes on I'm starting to hate it as I am too bored coloring the exact same things.

A Charming Coloring Book
I found so many pages in here to both challenge and relax me, it was added to my stash immediately. It's a little more challenging for me, but that is exactly what I wanted. Subject matter varies--see the examples others have provided, and there is very little here that I can't see appealing to nobody. It's a very appealing book of various subjects, some of which you may have the feeling I did of having to color. You may not color this cover to cover, or you may, but whatever in this especially hits the spot will make coloring in this very worthwhile. I highly recommend for yourself or the colorist you know would love this as a gift. Amazon paper, use blank pages of sufficient thickness to prevent color or pressure on the drawing on the next page. For this book, I'd bring out your better pencils (I really only know the wax varieties) to give the best color saturation.

mixed with beautiful flora as in Birdtopia
Another gorgeous book by Daisy Fletcher. It is every bit as lovely as Birdtopia, perhaps even more so because of the variety of striking images. There are many types of animals in this book, mixed with beautiful flora as in Birdtopia. The book format and paper quality are just like that of Birdtopia. I purchased Birdtopia for my mom 2 Christmases ago, and bought her Into the Wild this past Christmas. She is crazy about both of them and considers them her favorites of all her many coloring books. If you own and love Birdtopia, do not hesitate to purchase Into the Wild! It is one of the most gorgeous coloring books I have ever seen.

What’s not to love? The perfect coloring book for animal & plant lovers!
Beautiful coloring book! It is a nice and big size. Each page is finely printed on thick, quality off white paper. As a lover of nature, I was very pleased that at the back of the book the plant and animal species is listed for each page. As a plant collector, I started to notice while flipping through the pages that the flowers shown were not generic flowers, but are species specific. This will make a wonderful Christmas present for my niece & I wouldn’t mind coloring this book myself! 😊

High quality book
Yes, Yes, Yes! I am really happy with this book. It is excellent quality. The paper is thick and smooth and although I haven't tried it yet, I think gel pens could be used at least for highlighting without messing up the design on the other side. And I like the cream background. This is my kind of book. The designs are beautiful and creative without having tiny tiny spaces that are difficult to see and color..Since I am an Artist myself, I appreciate books with well done artwork. This one certainly qualifies.

A Gorgeous Work of Art!
I just received my copy of "Into the Wild" and it is incredible! I loved Birdtopia, so, I had high expectations and the art does not disappoint. I'm including a couple pics that show the beautiful work Daisy has done. I also love that she has included some (but not too many) artistic embellishments like the horse. The paper is perfect and the book is well made. You'll enjoy many hours of inspiring coloring with this book. (And thanks Daisy for including the names of both the animals and the plants!)
