Sleek Design with Plenty of Storage
Sleek Design with Plenty of StorageThis SanDisk Ultra Luxe 256GB USB 3.1 drive has been a solid performer for me. The all-metal casing feels sturdy and has a nice weight in hand, so it doesn’t come across as flimsy like some plastic drives. Its compact size makes it easy to keep on a keychain or in a laptop bag, and I appreciate that it doesn’t feel bulky even though it packs a generous 256GB of storage. In use, transfer speeds have been consistently fast for everyday tasks like moving videos, photos, and large documents. While it won’t quite match an SSD, for a flash drive it’s quick and reliable. The fact that it’s USB 3.1 means it works great on modern laptops, but it’s also backward compatible with older USB ports, which I’ve tested on a few different machines without any issues. One thing to be mindful of is that the all-metal design can get a little warm during prolonged transfers, but nothing concerning. The drive also doesn’t have a protective cap, so if you’re prone to tossing it into dusty pockets or bags, you may want to attach it to a keychain loop for better protection.Bottom line: A reliable, fast, and well-built USB drive with plenty of space. Ideal if you want something compact and stylish that can still handle larger files without slowing down.

Super small, which is super great
These are smaller than I thought but I'm glad. Amazing how much data you can fit on something so tiny. I would buy these again.

Heat Can be an issue
I have now bought a few of these and have had two of them stop working after a while due to heat.I use these as MP3 Music sticks plugged into my vehicles USB ports located in my console. It's not in a tight space but like any console it is closed. After a while my music will stop playing and the sticks are very warm. Once removed, cooled, and reseated, they work fine for a while. Its intermittent and happens in both of my USB ports so it's definitely not a connection. I have three other identical (same sixe, mfg, etc) sticks and have no issues. They never fail on my computer and other usages, and I love the size, capacity and speed so I kept the rating as a 4 star.

Holds Quite a Bit of Data and is Built Well
Very very handy USB stick in terms of storage. Built a lot more sturdy than the plastic ones too. I use it to transfer files from downstairs laptops to upstairs PC/laptop. Holds quite a bit of data for my purposes. Fits USB Type A jacks. Instantly recognized by all my laptops and PC's. The price is very fair as well.

SanDisk 512GB Ultra Luxe USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive
I bought the SanDisk 512GB Ultra Luxe USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive to replace a flash drive that, after several years of use, finally went bad.Pros and Cons:Pros:It's tiny and sleek, and the metal shell appears strong and sturdy. It can fit on a keychain and has a good amount of memory- 512GB. It's also a USB 3.2 Gen 1 version that is supposed to do transfers up to 400 mb/s.Cons:I just got the flash drive and plugged it into my 2020 Macbook Air M1, and after just 5 minutes, the drive was extremely hot to the touch. It's much hotter than other flash drives I've used. I tried to move 6.9GB of data over to the flash drive. Something that should have taken seconds but came back with a window that said it would take 13 hours. -WTH!!! I couldn't believe it, so I canceled the transfer and repeated to transfer it again, and it came back with the same window info. - 13 hrs. I decided to let it follow through with the transfer to see what would happen. After 8 minutes, I gave up. I unplugged the SanDisk flash drive and plugged in another flash drive (Patriot Rage XT 128GB USB 3.0) that I bought back in 2014. This time, the transfer took 43 seconds. I don't know why the SanDisk flash drive I bought was not performing correctly, but I returned it the next day to Amazon for a full refund. Lastly, I also had some difficulty plugging this SanDisk flash drive in and definitely had to put some extra strength into pulling it out. It was extremely tight-fitting compared to 2 other drives I have. I cannot recommend this specific SanDisk flash drive.
