CRAFTSMAN V20 RP Impact Wrench, Cordless, Brushless, High Torque, 1/2 Inch, 4Ah Battery and Charger Included (CMCF940M1)

Bought this to replace several parts on my car. It was worked like a beast and did the job very well. The only issue I had was that it seized up while breaking a nut loose on a ball joint. After working it free it felt a little bit like there was some loose metal that got shaved off of maybe a ball bearing inside the drive, but after a while it worked fine again. I probably should have gotten the warranty on it just in case. The battery lasted quite a while too. I only had to charge it once for the whole job (replacing the front knuckles and tie rods on both sides of the car). The size of the gun was good too.

More than enough torque to break lug nuts or anything you want to tackle. . Great to carry with you in the trunk of car your car during the winter months. Buy three batteries and keep all three charged. 2 at home. Then carry the impact in the trunk just encase you have a flat tire on the side of the interstate. Rotating the batteries once a month. I bought one for my daughter and an impact socket for her long drive to and from work while it’s dark. She can never break the lug nuts loose after being torqued to spec at tire shop. Great peace of mind for my daughter traveling on the road. Then use it to change upper and lower ball joints on my old pickup on the weekend. Worth every penny!!

A retired mechanic and so use to air tools. Hard to carry an air compressor so I purchased this for the name (yet it is nit what they use to be), price and reviews This was a major change for me as a air tool is quite lightweight and this is bulky and much heavier. I had to change all 20 of my old lug nuts with new and was gonna do 1 at a time. This had no problem. Reason I needed this as the tire shop overtorqued them. I struggled with the chincy jack handle and realized I needed to get my old torque wrench, anti seize and a new impact. This did the job. The low speed was good to run down with minimum torque. Fully charged before use and still gas all lights when battery was checked. The bag is kind of thin so I can see that getting worn with age quickly. The trigger action is variable like a air tool. One thing I had to get use to is when you release the trigger from full, it had a brushless delay unlike pneumatic tools. That was my only issue. Now I plan on getting a craftsman 3/8 relatchet that will accept the same battery (if possible, leave comment on model #if so) As I do a little tinkering for myself on cars. My ingersoll rand composite air is a jewel but that hose only goes so far and this impact fits in my trunk. The spare tools the manufacturers put in spare tire well are 1 time use junk and it is best to be prepared when needed. This fits that bill.

Works well really good cordless 1/2 inch impact the highest in tourqe in the Craftsman impact lineup that i looked at and even stronger than some more expensive brands very versatile and functional seems to be reminiscent of my 1/2 in air impact the anvil is solid and it has the dog ring as far as the weight well the anvil end has a little weight to it but it's to be expected with 1000 ft pounds breaking tourqe good value especially with the 4ah battery and charger and the grip is awesome.

This thing really works well. Have used it a number of times now, once with removing a shreaded camper tire and rim, and it worked flawlessly. I would recommend this tool.

It works well. I had no problem taking off the lug nuts on my '09 Sierra. I'm glad I bought it back in Feb, 2005. The price has increased by $100 since then.
