Partially successful - but poor quality
I bought these to fix along a fence to safely deter cats and pigeons from using a fence in my back garden. I have nothing against cats, but they drive my dogs ballistic and they’ve also killed a few birds on our bird feeders so I just wanted to discourage them. Pigeons like to sit on the same fence and add a few unpleasant streaks to it.My fence has an upper rail with a bevel on each edge. This meant that the pre-moulded screw holes (screws not provided) were not suitable. I tried using some adhesive to fix them on initially, but the plastic just wasn’t glue friendly. I ended up just drilling new central pilot holes and screwing them down with stainless screws. Once up, they are similar in colour to my fence panels and don’t look too bad at all. It’s been 100% effective at deterring cats, but the pigeons seem to be totally immune so I guess it can only be considered a partial success. I’m still happy with them, regardless.** UPDATE: having been up for just a few weeks we had some warm weather and, in spite of being screwed down with stainless steel screws at each end, every single strip has warped upwards and they look awful. What was a 4 star review, I'm afraid now only deserves a 1. Poor quality and not fit for purpose. Human 1 Cat 0 thanks to this product.
I bought this because I needed something that would stop my cat from sitting in front of the TV.I tried a few different ideas but was limited to what I could put there because I would of blocked the TV's speakers. And what ever I put there he'd just sit on and then look at me with that look of 'you've failed again idiot'.So when I saw these 'spikes' I thought, they might work. So, I've used Blutac to stick them down and....they've worked! I have a very annoyed cat, but I'm able to watch TV without a cat blocking my view.I'm just concerned now what the cat is planning to do to get his revenge.

Works on cats, not on foxes
I was hoping this would stop the cats and foxes from coming in to our garden and treating it as the communal toilet, alas, it only seems to work on cats. I just chased a fox out of our garden, and it simply jumped on the fence and sat on the spikes. So, it looks like the search is on to find something that will stop the foxes. Also, if you do buy it, make sure you have longer nails ready, since if you only have short ones, there is a risk that during installation, you will hammer in the nails *and* at the same time hit the plastic spikes, damaging the sharp end, which needs to stay sharp in order to do its job.

Great to keep away unwanted animals
Just had our garden landscaped and we had an unexpected cat visit early hours of the morning and use our new grass as a toilet. We split these down and nailed them to the fence and had nothing since! They're not harmful to animals, just uncomfortable on their paws and feet and they jump straight off.

Bye bye puss cat
Brilliant and simple to fit. We are plagued by a local cat who comes into our garden at 1.15am most evenings causing Mr.Darcy our gorgeous Springer Spaniel to bark and try to get at it. We've tried sonic animal scarers which the cat soon gets used to so hopefully it won't like pricked paws.

Not fit for purpose
The description says to deter cats. RUBBISHI ordered two sets of these to cover three 6ft panels and a 3ft door.I installed them all the way along the fence including cutting one to go on top of the fence supports. The local cats ignore the spikes. They still climb the fence and walk calmly along the spikes.

Difficult to fit, but could work
Good idea, but not easy to attach to the top of the fence. The top of the fence needs to be flat for this to fit, and a certain width to take the nails to attach it.Not very attractive to look at, maybe it will help keep the cats in, - so far so good even with a poor fit, so all could still end up end well!

Effective design, plastic material not flexible enough to easily fit to chamfered capping.
The overall design with additional smaller infill spikes is most effective. However, despite the longitudinal grooves underneath, the plastic was too rigid to bend to fit to chamfered fence panel capping. Since the only pre-made fixing points were small holes near the outside edge of the sections that were supposed to bend, fixing was not that simple. Pre-moulded holes along the centre of the main wider section would readily allow that to be secured first and the sides bent afterwards, preferably on a very warm day.
