Can't use for sound unless docked
Staggeringly bad design. It doesn't have bluetooth or anything else so the speakers only work when the tablet is docked. Basically you can't use your tablet as a tablet (say to read the paper) and get the benefit of the speakers unless it is plugged in to the charger which makes it incredibly awkward to use the screen. I would have thought most people would want this functionality - certainly in a speaker set up as expensive as this (how much would it cost to add bluetooth?). Unfortunately, I bought it well in advance for a birthday, only opened it then and now it's too late to return it.

Perfect !
Really good sound quality, easy to set up and exactly what I needed. A stand and a charger, perfect !Not sure why some people seemed to think it had Bluetooth capabilities but it certainly doesn't need it. Great !

Google's best performer since their launch of the Pixel phones!!
Room filler of a sound machine! Clear, concise and without being too OTT this is by far far Google's best thing since their Pixel phones!!

Sounds worse than a Nest Mini and riddled with software problems
I don't even know where to start on this.Firstly, it sounds awful It has less bass than my Google Nest Mini, that Google literally gives away for free. £130 for a speaker dock that is bad at being a speaker is ridiculous.Tried to live with it by adding it to my kitchen speaker group which caused even more issues. Firstly, if you add it to a group with Chromecast devices other than Google Nest branded ones (like my Sony, LG and Onkyo Chromecast speakers), it doesn't work. It'll play the music everywhere excet the hub. Also, unlike every other Google Assistant enabled speaker, you can't set a group to be the default for playback - you have to do it manually every time. And the worst thing: it plays ads before music, even though I have Youtube Premium. Only in Hub mode - tablet mode is fine. It does it sporadically, so it's super hard to debug, so I tried factory resetting both tablet and speaker, making sure Youtube Music Premium is set up and acknowledged in Hub Mode settings (it is), removed every other Chromecast audio device and Group from my home. It's just a mess.Overall, an absolute swing-and-miss in terms of both hardware and software. It's actually impressive how google managed to get this so wrong.
