I initially gave this a bad review because I could not get it to connect. But I went back again and figured out the problem. It was my user error. I kept misspelling my host wifi password and di not realize until I had to check it for another reason. Once I typed in the correct password, this device worked like a charm. It actually increased my internet speed as well.

I was getting 200-225 MBS on my computer about 25 feet from the Optimum Fiber Gateway. I am paying Optimum for 1GBS, since I was receiving a lower speed, they told me to get a WIFI extender, because the router had 2 walls between my computer (a circa 2022 Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5 laptop) and the router. I followed the instructions to the letter it powered up great, showed up as a subsystem of my network, but when I ran the speed test I was only getting 10-20MBS on the computer. I moved it around the room, same speeds. I moved it between my computer and the router and still 10-20MBS. I am not sure what was going on. I still had 4 out 5 bars on my computer for WIFI signal strength with the WIFI or without. So I returned it the same day I got it.It may work for others, I do not want to disparage the product as it may work for other purchasers.

I suspect the product is a good one, but it wasn't compatible with the modem I have from Spectrum. The unit programmed correctly, but would only pass through about 20 MBPS of the available 300+. The Spectrum help desk could see every other device we have through their router, but not the Wi Fi extender.

Gosh! Our Internet Router is in one corner of our large single family home. With our TV in the bedroom on the other corner, there is no Internet connection for the TV. First time setting up a WiFi Extender. Read through a couple of online information to learn about installing a WiFi extender but I was a little confused. Finally purchased this WiFi Extender. It is so tiny and cute. Opened the Installation Booklet in the package and completed setup in 3 minutes. It was so easy!! Our TV upstairs is now working great. Setup was a piece of cake for all the reading I did online trying to learn. I did not want to connect the Extender to either our main Router or TV using long Ethernet cables. All connections from Router to Extender and Extender to my Device is all Wireless. So sweet 😀

What can I say, I normally don't let myself get influenced by others reviews but this item I did. The last similar unit I purchased worked great, hook up was super easy etc etc but it over heated and died within 7 months.So here I am today reviewing this 2.4 / 5G capable unit. Well here we go. First off the unit in the pic looks much larger then the actual unit, not saying it's tiny but definitely not as large as I imagined. I was hoping it would be much larger to help dissipate heat as these type of expanders do tend to heat up.Anyhow enough "back story". Here are my thoughts of this unit.1. Well made and perfect size IMO to help with heat dissipation.2. Hook up was the easiest I have ever experienced. Literally took 10 seconds.3. Both the 2.4 and 5 G works as it should.However, here are just a few CONs to this.1. The 5G expansion, the most I was able to Speedtest out was 80-100 bps.2. On 2.4 it has a lag for some reason at time. Mind you this unit is only 4 ft away from our main 5G router.3. It will "roam" from time to time. Ie. Sometimes it will connect to 5G and other times it will go back and forth from 2.4 to 5 and vise versa.So would I recommend it?? Yes for the price it works, obviously not perfect by any means but it works and that's what matters.Just my 2 cents. I would say try it for yourself and decide once you have it connected to your system. Maybe your experience could be better or worse. Only you will know for sure.

I got an extender because I live in a duplex apartment and our router is upstairs while my bedroom is downstairs. I got this specific extender because of the price and the great reviews. When I received it, I set it up easily, and it worked amazing. My wi-fi connection was a lot stronger and I was super happy with it. However, it only worked for about two weeks. It started to disconnect, and the extender light was never on. I tried resetting it, but it didn’t fix the issue. The only times when I could get the extender to work was to reset my router, but the extender light would stay on for maybe 15 mins and it would go dead again.I thought maybe it was because I was too far from the router (which didn’t really make sense since it worked fine for two weeks). But I tried plugging it to an outlet right next to the router, and it still didn’t work. Pretty disappointed.

I had thought this would give me a better connection with my computer which is on the second floor, and the WiFi (router) is on the first. I tried plugging this thing in multiple times and and after about an hour I was able to get it to function, and was forced to unplug it then took about another hour. I after finally getting it to work, my connection was a lot worse than the original connection I had with the router. I bought this because since I’m a little further away from the router than everyone else I just thought I needed something to “increase the distance and boost the strength”. This has costed me nothing but waste of money and frustration. I was very disappointed with the results, I got a Ethernet cable to see if that would help, Idk if that would help, but I’m just gonna give it a try. So far I hate this product and if this last attempt fails I’m going to refund this.
