This will lead to greening up of grass and hardening of lawn against disease. Use of the product at dilution rates higher than 30g/L will result in blackening of moss. Application of ferrous sulphate to hard surfaces such as concrete should be avoided as rust-like staining will occur. No more than 3 applications per year should be carried out on the lawn. It is used a mordant for wool dyeing. Ferrous sulphate can also be used to stain concrete and some limestones and sandstones a yellowish rust colour. Woodworkers use ferrous sulfate solutions to color maple wood a silvery hue. In horticulture it is used for treating iron chlorosis (yellowing of folliage caused by iron deficiency). Although not as rapid-acting as iron chelate, its effects are longer-lasting. It can be mixed with compost and dug into to the soil to create a store which can last for years. N.B. This product is not for human or animal consumption. This is a pure chemical and is not HSE approved for herbicidal applications. It is not sold for this purpose. ## Features - This is not a dry powder for spreading over lawns.
