Phenomenal oil for use in curries
I purchased this oil to make a particular okra masala, but it will make a wonderful base for any curry sauce. It tolerates extreme heating, but we aware that it will make your eyes water as it reaches smoking point. As for the whole debate about internal use only, mustard oil is high in erucic acid which was linked to cardiac concerns in the 1970s. Those concerns were soon eliminated, but the bureaucrats have clung to it. But hey, millions of people around the world are consuming it regularly and I'm now another of them.

lovely, flavoursome cooking oil
fantastic tasting mustard oil. I have bought this for 3 years now...gets used very quickly. Again, like everybody else says, why does this say 'not for consumption'??? They need to update their advice. The oil is strong as it is mustard based...wouldn't want to use it as a massage oil!... but very nice in small amounts for cooking. (Due to its strong mustard taste, a little goes a long way.

Edible, just not by UK/EU standards.
Price should be cheaper to be honest, but other than that it's fine and tastes/smells lovely when cooked with. The reason people are seeing 'External Use Only' is because mustard oil contains high levels of erucic acid, which exceed food safety limits set by the UK and EU. Labelling it for external use allows it to be sold legally as a massage or hair oil rather than a food product. Some of the studies suggested that high, prolonged intakes of EA may be linked with the increase in fat deposits in heart muscle, called myocardial lipidosis. So maybe don't cook with it often :ยฌ)

Not for cooking!
Not for cooking! The product clearly states that it is for external use only and gives instructions of how to use on hair and skin.

Beautifully strong mustard oil
Just as I like it - strong, dark, potent mustard aroma and super tasty to cook with. I made indian kimchi with this - Any veg or unripe fruit sliced and mixed with sea salt, turmeric powder and crushed garlic cloves. Spread on tissue or newspaper and leave overnight for water to come out of it. Next day warm the mustard oil and pour in crushed mustard seeds. Dont cook the seeds as they burn quickly. Cool and mix with your veg or fruit mix above then stuff in clean jars. Pour some olive oil to cover the surface and shut tight with the lid. Leave in a cupboard for 3 days or so. Enjoy!
