Kids thought they could hang it and have birds nest in the boxes but they are clearly for fun and not function. Good activity though at a good price. They had lots of fun painting designs.

This comes with kits to make 4 birdhouses. The pieces are all separated into individual bags so you can't get the pieces confused with each other. There are stencils included to help make neat pictures on the birdhouses. It comes with 24 little paint containers and 4 paint brushes. It also includes 2 tubes of glue, string to hang the birdhouses, beads to glue to the house or to decorate the hanging strings, and a package of many shiny jewel stickers. This is very cute and easy to assemble. No cutting or nailing is necessary. The pieces puzzle together and slide into place. Cute decorations and fun projects.

I sent this as a present for my grandkids (Boy age 6 and Girl age 4) as something to do while they are out of school for the summer. Of course their parents helped them to put them together and glue them. The kids mainly painted them on their own. Their mom said that the bird houses seemed a little light weight and so with two of them they are going to put a piece of wood under them and put them on posts. They allowed the kids to hang the other two as they are because they were so excited. She said they have been checking them every day to see if any birds have moved in. As a teacher I think this would also be a good kit for kids to make something for their teachers to decorate their desks or hang outside their classrooms.

Looks like a good quality kit. Will find out how good after Christmas.
