Night and day difference from my starter cheapy!
I have been working with an inexpensive mill purchased on Amazon (it's green) for a while now with mediocre results and a sore muscles. I invested in this mill in hopes of reducing the time and energy to pull wire through a draw plate (I made a make-shift draw bench with a winch and 2x6 that works reasonably well.) Rolling the square is much easier and the resulting wire is so much smoother and cleaner than from the cheap mill. The biggest lesson I had to learn is that you need to pretty much run all wire through the square until you get to the correct size to change the shape to one of the others the mill can do. If you put too large a square wire into the round or oval, you are going to get pinched edges. Those can be filed off, but you get a much cleaner result by not "overloading" the mill. This mill will not pull round wire down like a draw plate - you need to reduce the diameter/width in the square sections and then reshape. Gomeowcreations has a nice video of how to use a similar mill on YT for reference. My only negative so far was the label to ship was created on a Monday and the item didn't ship until that Friday. I was like a kid at Christmas, checking the tracking number multiple times a day to see when it was finally shipped. Kinda cruel, but I survived. Regarding shipping, the mill was very protected with multiple layers of cardboard within the box. It was bolted onto a thick slab of cardboard, so you'll need to undo those to remove the cardboard. It's over 50 pounds, so be prepared for arrival and DO NOT PICK IT UP BY THE UPPER T BAR!

Great variety for rolling wire
I recently took a workshop where it became obvious that I needed a wire rolling mill. I chose this one because it will meet all my needs for rolling wire. I do have another rolling mill, but it is strictly a flat mill. Now that Pepe offers this choice, if you already have a flat mill, I believe you will be very satisfied with this model. In the past few years, Pepe has redesigned their mills and this is one of those models. The quality is there and the 4:1 gear ratio makes rolling the material easier. They have re-designed the handle mechanism so the gears won't be damaged if you happened to take on too much pressure....only the pin holding the handle in place....the result is a much simpler and inexpensive fix by replacing the pin.I would highly recommend this if you are in the market for a wire rolling mill.A footnote to the supplier: Shipping the mill in its original box is problematic as parts of it came through the box in the course of shipping. If you could put the original box inside a larger box with more padding, this could help avoid any potential damage to the mill. Thankfully, my mill was ok, but I was apprehensive as I unboxed it.

Should have bought a Durstin
I have been a jeweler and stone center for 21 years…….. This rolling mill crimps the edges when you try and roll out round wire out round wire and makes a mess of it. When I called customer service at pepe to try and figure out what was going on, they were rude and said I must be doing something wrong. It's funny because my other 2 rolling Mills do not do this and I've never had a problem with them. On top of that, the caps on each of the gear assemblies assemblies just fall right off. They're not held on in any way. It's a really cheap design for a expensive piece of equipment.

Pepe USA Quality, great deal.
This mill will roll a large assortment of wire shapes and sizes. Look at the image of the rollers to see the cross sections.Nice beech wood handle; large enough for two fisted rolling.50 pounds of quality. 4:1 reduction is easy on the arms and gives great control.Only thing that I would change is the max opening of the rollers....no big deal, just a wish without need.

Built to last
Great product and highly recommend. I was so happy with this mill I just bought the 90mm flat mill by pepetools to compliment this one.
