The Hygge Holiday: The warmest, funniest, cosiest romantic comedy of the year

If you are in need of a feel good story with eclectic people, a hilarious parrot and lessons about how to live a HYGGE life, then this is the perfect book for you. I heard about this story from a social media group that I am a part of that celebrates everything HYGGE. I enjoyed this story so much. Rosie Blake has developed characters and a town that will leave you wanting more.

This was an easy read for when you need a break. The plot is simple, the characters are likable and the sentiment is peaceful. The comfort food of books.

The Hygge Holiday is such a cosy, feel-good and lovely read. I'm sure by now, everyone has heart of the concept of hygge but if not, definitely pick this book to find out more about the Danish secret for being happier. I loved how this story in itself already manages to bring hygge to your home. While reading it, I couldn't resist lighting a few candles and curling up in the sofa with a nice and warm blanket and a hot chocolate. *sighs in happiness* The story is about Clara Kristensen who has mysteriously arrived at Yulethorpe, a sad town where all the business are closing. A bit by chance, Clara ends up house-sitting and managing the toy shop of a local who has gone on a long holiday. And as she starts leaving her hygge mark everywhere in Yulethorpe, we get to know a bit more about her. I really liked her as a character, she has this peaceful and calm aura but she also has a few secrets she is not willing to share, which made her very interesting. The other main character in the story is Joe, a workaholic from the city that definitely needs a bit of hygge in his life. I really enjoyed how their stories intertwined and the wintery setting of Yulethorpe was perfect for it. Another thing I also found fascinating was the toy shop and all the new ideas that Clara brought with her. I wish I could go there to get my nieces a few presents this Christmas! But this wouldn't be a Rosie Blake novel without her hilarious humour and The Hygge Holiday is no exception. With a very sensitive parrot that only talks with TV quotes and a pub owner that cheats on Words With Friends and has a "dark" secret, this story made me laugh so much! If you are planning a quiet, cosy evening by the fire, then this novel is your perfect companion. Let's all hygge a bit more this new year!

Warm, fuzzy, happy ending. Just the quick read you want in the busy season. Light and easy to follow along with a bit of good advice on the side. We should all try not to take ourselves too seriously.

Do yourself a favor and buy this incredibly gorgeous and beautifully written gem of a book! Even though it’s a sweltering July in Georgia, I got to escape into this cozy world to enjoy a hygge holiday. Even though I’ve known about hygge for a few years, reading this book inspired me— and not just to click Add to Cart on hot water bottles and soft, snuggly blankets (although I did that, too). I read this over about 3 days, and each day I found myself lighting more candles, cozying up my home, or enjoying a relaxing cup of tea. This book would make a spectacular gift for any reader— with a mug, tea or hot chocolate, candle, and a soft scarf or blanket to set the mood. Perfect for a holiday book club read or just a relaxing romcom to enjoy when life wears you down. This hit all the right notes for me, and the only thing I have to say is, What are you waiting for??? Read this. I’ll be reading it again at the holidays, too.

I really enjoyed this book! I was looking for something cozy, fun and cute and this was it. I enjoyed the hygge and the advice to slow down and take time for the simple joys in life. The story was so sweet!

This was very entertaining. I loved Caca. The book was interesting and an easy read. The characters were engaging. It made me laugh a lot. The end was predictable but you can't help but enjoy the ride!!!

Although the character of Joe could have been better developed to let us understand why Clara would love him, this was a lovely story.

I enjoyed reading it a lot.. makes you all warm an fuzzy inside like cocoa or red wine ;) perfect for a cold winter day when you just need something that makes you feel good. By the way I never write reviews but the cute note at the end of the book by the author made me want to do it anyways.

Il libro, in lingua inglese, presenta una lettura molto scorrevole e se si adorano i romanzi romantici, a tema natalizio e con un tocco illuminante di "stile hygge", sicuramente è quello che fa per voi! Da leggere specialmente durante le feste , alla luce di una candela aromatizzata alla cannella mentre fuori nevica!

Loved all the characters, even the ugly ones!! Highly recommend this cozy read for fall going into winter! Time to Hygge the house!!

This was such an enjoyable book! I loved the intricate development of each of the characters and the witty one liners made me laugh. Also I, too, want to work on my ‘hygge’.
