looking for the old version where the ovaltine floated in crunchy bits on the milk and resisted being mixed in--is this it?

Some bits clump but it is not the old style where the texture was more chunky and not powder. It is a really better than the US version because it has way less carbs and more nutrition. This is the best reason to be a regular buyer of the European formula.

product may be from Thailand, but the script on the canister / jar is definitely not Thai. Look up what what Thai writing looks like and compare it to Chinese.

What country is it made in?

Curiously enough, the bottle says it's manufactured in Thailand for Ovaltine International...a bit peculiar for a "European" formula, but pretty tasty nonetheless.
