Bones & Honey: A Heathen Prayer Book

The way Danielle weaves words is magical. These aren't lists of spells to do in your practice, they are windows into the spirit and human experiences. For all spells are words and intentions woven together to manifest ones deepest desires. Its beautiful to read.

This collection of prayers and blessings is absolutely beautiful. All of Dulsky's books read like poetry, but this one feels particularly special. I grab it when I'm looking for something specific but also when I'm looking for general inspiration or wanting to centre myself in the moment.

Danielle's prose and word witchery opens unexplored places within my spirit. Bones and Honey is no different. I learn something new about words and their meanings within my personal Gnosis with each book. The Holy Wild it was the word Heathen, for Bones & Honey it is the word Prayer. Within these 13 chapters, a new layer is cracked open within myself. My spirit is able to then ripple out to my communities and within my spheres of influence. Danielle Dulsky is one of my most BELOVED Teachers and her writing speaks to my Soul like no other author I've encountered. The Elder, Eternal wisdom from the land, the cosmos, the Ancestors, the Otherworld, from Dreams, and from Mythos that pours through her embodied and reverent practice in relationship with these holiest of wilds is viscerally felt in her words, especially in Bones & Honey.I am finding this read to be a delicious smorgasbord of delicacies for any occasion. I love to lap up the just right prayer for my moment via the practice of bibliomancy, flipping intuitively to the message that wants me. Every time I find medicine, nourishment, or magick to fill my belly and heart.I am so inspired by the evolutionary art that is this book of Heathen Prayers. I can feel the rehydration of the Mythopoetic Archetypes that run as currents underneath and behind the modern human psyche, emerging from illuminating tales of our most authentically human and wild essence as a species. I feel there is sweetness and endurant wisdom for every aspect of self, life stage, and experience in the initiatory journey back to the ancient-future self, housed in the pages of Bones and Honey.As I read, my body is sparked more alive with sensation that taps into the most primal, heathen, humble, and knowing fields in belonging to this parent-planet we call Earth, and to the cosmos that spawned it. I can FULLY FEEL myself as Nature, belonging to the wild-collective-mind and expanding consciousness of the cosmos as I breathe new-old life into the waterways of my human animal, letting them surge forth again in remembrance and revitalization.This book restores my faith in humanity and serves as a easily consumed, but decadently-rich meal to fortify our bones with hope and knowing, for the evolutionary-apocalyptic moment we find ourselves in together now as we carve our next spiral in time toward the potential for a better world.I will find myself reading this book again and again as I seek to delight my tastebuds with the memory of hope, support myself in feeling reinspired, be guided by the wisdom that lives within me-planted in the blueprint of my own psyche, and swelling the aliveness and evolutionary art within that I am meant to offer in service to the world.Slow sip or gobble up these prayers, the small-god archetypal-elders, and lantern-like Myths to turn up the heat on your own erotic-spark of creativity and participation in dreaming a new world into being.

The layout of this book is fantastic. Danielle Dulsky has broken it down into 13 sections with 13 written prayers/stories for each section. As if that wasn't user friendly enough, the introduction further explains each area so you can decide where to start first.Each section has a beautiful flow of words. The range of emotions I felt from one piece to the next was breath giving. I felt like someone else "got it".I will be using this book again and again and again.Thank you Danielle for taking your beautifluid prose and sharing it with the world.
