Review: Visible well over 200', seems VERY weatherproof - UPDATE April 22, 2025: I just wanted to update this review. I'm still very satisfied with this indicator light. It has been through the 2025 Snowmageddon that we had here in South Alabama and it didn't miss a beat. Likewise, though the instructions tell you not to use the light during electrical storms...well, down here in the deep south you're gonna have electrical storms. Now, my fence is 12v DC so I'm not connected to the powerlines but still, there is the issue of this big antenna (the fence) picking up some induced current...so far, no problem!!! :) The indicator light is also very sensitive. I had an occasion where the ground probe was not in the ground and the light was still working! Next big test is coming up....can it stand the south Alabama heat and humidity of summer??? If it passes the summer test I'll say it deserves a ****** review!!!!! My fence charger doesn't have an indicator light on it, it's a 12v DC charger with a separate solar panel charging it. But, I wanted to be sure the fence around my vegetable garden was up and running without going out to the garden and checking the meter. I was hesitant about this light but decided to risk the ~$15 and see how it worked. My two concerns were that it might reduce the voltage on the fence. I had just done a lot of testing on the 7-year-old fence to realize the problem of low voltage (around 3kv) was at the main connection coming from the charger...replacement wire/added wire had simply been wrapped around the "bundle". I stripped all that away, made a complete new connection including threading some galvanized wire in with the polywire and "BOOM!!!" the voltage went to 9.5kv!!!! So, I didn't want the new indicator light to drag the voltage down. The other thing I was concerned about was the light's ability to withstand the elements (read: RAIN). Well, the best that I can tell using my digital fence meter is that it does NOT affect the fence voltage...still nice and HOT. The light's weather/water proofness I'm still unsure of though. We got hit with two pretty big rain systems shortly after I installed the light, both systems dumped 3+ inches each on us...one a fast rain, the other a slow rain. It has appeared not to affect the light any. There *is* a warning not to have the light installed during electrical storms........well, I'm not going out and taking it down every time I hear a clap of thunder here in south Alabama. My fence being a 12v DC powered fence it is not as prone to damage from lightning. Time will tell. One thing that I'm I'm thinking of doing is being a little proactive and sealing the seams/joints with some silicone sealant. As for using the light it is really simple....it's just like using a regular single-light fence tester. Just stick the ground probe in the ground and hang the light onto a strand of wire/polywire/tape/whatever and that green light goes to blinking!!! The light is pretty sensitive being as it was picking up a radioed signal from the fence before I attached it. I can see the light blinking easily from 250' away BUT you have to be pretty much head-on to it...if you're 45-degrees to one side of it your pretty much not going to see it. I like the limited angle viewing as it makes the light pretty discreet from "passer-byers" drawing little attention to itself. But, if you're in the angle of view for the light you can easily see it. I first installed the light on the near side of the garden fence but after a couple of nights with it there I chose to move it to the far side to reduce its intensity as seen from the house. Daytime viewing is naturally more limited but it can still be viewed at 100'. I've got until January 31st to return this light but I suspect that I will be keeping it. It works (for now) as described, it's been through a couple of heavy rains, and it is viewable from a good distance (within reason). So, for now, I'm just happy as a pig in a mud puddle. ;)
Review: At a Glance Fence Management - These work great! I placed them on each of 3 separate runs of fence line at different distances. The maximum distance I can see them blink is about 300’ (nighttime). During daylight I can easily see them blink at 20’. It’s nice to know at a glance if the fence is working.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good, bright but watch the 10KV limit!
*by M***Y on June 12, 2025*

Was bright and worked well to see from the house 100' away. However I had my charge box set to 10KV and this was apparently to close to it's to rating (my box can go 9K to 12K). Now the unit still works but is fairly dim. Opened it up and all of it's components are encased in an epoxy sealant, which is good, but I can't fix the darn thing. Probably a capacitor or diode failed, a nickle part... If I get another one I might install an additional dropping resistor to make it more reliable. This would be outside of it's box and in the weather though.
