Not finding any other colors in my size (6.5), I looked for the closest look-alike and found the STEVEN "Corry" in taupe, which was a lovely rich tone. While they may look virtually identical when viewed on a computer monitor, the fits are extremely different. The Corry scooped down an hit my foot right at that largest joint on the big toe (where your grandmother likely had a pronounced bunion). Even without the bunion, it was very uncomfortable and I didn't have the feeling that the situation would improve after a breaking-in period. The sole felt somewhat less stable when walking than the E&J shoe. Not being a shoe designer or an engineer, I don't feel qualified to diagnose the problem. I suspect an inferior, thinner material in the sole. Before I tried on the shoe I thought that, though it isn't a perfect match, for the price, it'll do. This was large all around and I have average sized feet. I need an 8 in these bad boys. However, I still give them an 8 because it is beyond difficult (as a teacher on her feet most of the day) to find dress shoes with a reasonably sized heel and a comfortable pointy toe. Style and comfort rarely go together as it pertains to women's dress shoes. The toes is pointy but there's enough room for your toes. I ordered the black which could go with a skirt, dress, stockings, dress pants perhaps, etc. I wouldn't wear them with jeans. If you want to wear these to a wedding or night out dancing....with an elegant dinner dance, you name it! These work! They're not flashy but they're cute and slim your feet just enough to look youthful, stylish, and long-legged. Where have these shoes been all my life!?!!
