Recharges batteries while driving fast and handles my 120watts of solar NP. Way cheaper than buying them separately unless you have more than 400watts of solar. I’ve used it for 2 years now and have had no problems. Being able to monitor on phone is super handy. I would highly recommend this DC charger if you plan on using solar as well but it’s still a good deal for a 50amp dc-dc smart charger. Love it!

Works like a charm upon install. Install not to difficult either. Strongly, Strongly, Strongly recommend this product. Yes I meant it 3x.

Works as advertised. Takes input from the solar panels or the 12VDC aux from the 7pin trailer connector. We can now charge the trailer battery when on the road.

I purchased this charge controller initially because I believed that it could more than cover the 200 W solar panel I had on my truck in addition to the alternator charge. What I found is that it could handle the alternator charge, but it could not handle the 200 W solar panel without sending an error message. The new version of the Renogy charge controller has no problem with this. I ended up returning this one for a newer model purchased elsewhere. If you only have 100 W solar panel this probably would be just fine.

I replaces my Voyager model with this one and it works unbelievably well with my iron phosphate batteries! Thank you!

Purchased May 10th and it was no longer charging via solar by the middle of August. I've confirmed there is power from the panels (2 100w run in parallel). It still charges when the vehicle is running just nothing from the solar. There is a fuse between the solar panels and charge controller and that is still good so it's something internal on the charge controller.

This unit basically shuts itself on and off every 5 minutes to check to see if there is enough solar to charge. That's not very efficient when alternator charging. Adding a relay that closes the solar input when driving eliminated the issue.
