each socket had a switch and the switch was luminous, a good feature was the supply wire provided was a bigger capacity than I expected

I needed a new extension for my desktop PC, and this fits the bill perfectly. Everything plugged in with its own socket, surge protected, and has hooks in the back so I can hang it on the wall. Love it.

Replaced an older 4 way to give more space as well as options to individually switch on and off without the entire thing being powered down at the mains. Light and easy to mount, not always immediately obvious which switch is for which plug if you don't use them often enough. Slight downside of the back to back configuration is that some plugs obscure over other outlets rendering them unusable but thats just how it goes sometimes. I probably only gained an extra 2 slots with the blocked ones.. would have been nice to see some USB connectors here perhaps but not bad for the price.

I'm of the opinion that I can never have too many extension leads and this one, with its eight sockets should fit the bill nicely. Whilst that sounds great on paper (everything plugged into the same extension bar,) in practice, you'll have to be careful what you plug in and turn on at the same time. Whilst it has a generous 3200 watt rating, it's still only capable of 13 amps and you could use more than half of that just by plugging in a 2000 watt hair dryer.You do get a handy guide with the power bar but it's a bit on the conservative side for some appliances e.g. fans and hairdryers. Used for things like LED TVs, monitors, charging up laptops or mobiles will be fine though, so this may be most suited to an office environment where you need to power lots of low-energy consuming equipment.However, this is a very well made piece of kit. It's sturdily built, the extension lead is well made and the moulded plug is an excellent design with recesses wide enough to protect your fingers from harm when inserting or removing the plug from a wall outlet. Similarly, plugs fit snugly into the sockets and the switches have a satisfying 'click' when you engage them. The fact that they light up only when you have equipment switched on is a great energy saving feature, as some extension bars have permanently illuminated LEDs. As you can see, there are two recesses on the back of the unit so that you can wall mount it too.This is actually the second power bar I've had from this maker. I received my first just over a year ago and it's in daily use powering laptops, mobiles, vacuum cleaner batteries etc. without issue. I'm sure this one will last just as well as my older one, which has survived the odd kick or nudge.
