For all those who say it takes 2 people, they are smart, but it can be done by one. The instructions were very clear. They show 2 men. LOL it can be done by one crafty old woman. The trick is to use a tallish step ladder and have it take the weight of the umbrella as you put the metal post in. Also buy sand in 60 pound bags, not 100. I can tell it is not sturdy enough for high winds, I will probably remove the fabric for the winter. But as for adding sand, it was super easy as the plug holes are huge. I just cut the corner of the bag and let it spill in. After the first bag I tipped the base to get the sand to fill the far end. After the second I used a heavy duty hand truck to lift the filling end. After that it was too heavy. So I added sand and used the pup's chuck-it to move the sand deeper in the cavity to be able to add 3 more bags. It is pretty and will provide great shade.

I have never once written a review of anything. I ordered this last year to match other sunbrella umbrellas we had. This was 1/3 of the cost of others so I figured I’d give it a try and go from there. I just put it up today (a year later). Nothing was missing. It was easy to put together (easier than expected) and it is sturdy and really nice. So pleased!!! It does help to have a second person when filling the base with sand and putting the big pole in but you could do it alone if you needed to. I would buy this over and over again and will look to this company when we replace our regular umbrellas next summer.

This is a nice umbrella. No doubt. I m a handy woman but I needed my husband to help me because it is heavy. I bought the one without the base thinking I may save some money. Then I realized you will pay for it one way or another. They bolt provided for step 2 did not lock in the base I bought. It took me some time to troubleshoot and ended up buying nuts from Home Depot to secure the base after weeks of back and forth with the seller. It is up. It can move to the side when you are not using it (huge plus).

Very disappointed; our the box it seems fine (time will tell if the umbrella fades) but I noticed right away some major engineering and design issues. First, wheels… no clue why they’re there . Once you put 265 pounds on that base, you’re not moving it - and the pole is too thin of metal to use it as a cantilever - it will snap. Bottom line, you’re not moving it ones the base is set. Umbrella… It has a solid 20° to 30° pitch in every direction when to the wind blows. What that means is anybody in excess of 4 1/2 feet from the ground (standing or sitting) will get hit in the head with it. Forget about having it shade a table or bar… lastly, to collapse the umbrella you must have three feet of clearance… meaning if you have a table/bar/chairs whatever .. in excess of four feet from the ground either that has to move or the umbrella has to move (refer to my prior comment about the base). We wanted to use this to cover our BBQ area and it’s near worthless in this regard. We’re trying to find another use because breaking back down and returning it is such a lift. I didn’t give it zero because if you plan on using it to cover chairs or recliners… you may find it useful

This umbrella was easy to put together and I'm a 71 yr old woman. It is very sturdy with a substantial base and the system works great. I highly recommend the product.

I just wanted to say that the customer service at Grand Patio is top rate. Base had a crack in it. We contacted them and submitted pictures. Within a week we received the replacement base. The CS representative emailed us daily with updates and tracking numbers of replacement so that we would know the status of everything. We love the umbrella. Cannot say enough good things about it and the company. Will be purchasing another one in the near future.

This is a really nice umbrella. The reason I gave it 3 stars and not 5 is because the screw holes did not align. We had to redrill the support bracket on the bottom in order to put together. Also you can not put this together alone. This is a 2 person job.Update: Changed from 3 to 5 stars. The seller’s customer service is excellent. They reached out and offered to fix the bracket or to ship a new base if the base did not hold up. Very appreciative that they rectified the situation.

We ordered the big beautiful umbrella to put out at our pool. We have really enjoyed it! It was not difficult to put together and is easy to use. It was a great purchase!

We’ve had this apart more than we’ve had it up. It just catches the wind constantly and rips out all the spokes. Even just a light gust of wind.

When I spend $1500 I expect to get everything required to set it up!
