Never Worry about Charging
This radio has 3 ways to charge and you can add batteries if all else fails. I really like that feature. It worked straight out of the box. I found our radio stations without a problem and the clarity is amazing. It's small but packs a punch with excellent quality, easy to use, and great value for the money. The light is very bright.

Have Not had it long but so far....
So far this appears to be a nice little emergency radio. I bought it because my old Radio Shack emergency radio finally bit the dust. (Radio Shack is no longer in business.) I have no illusions that the solar-charger on the top of the radio will really do any amount of decent charging but the rest of the features seem to work reasonably well. I was able to charge up the internal lithium battery with the included cable and a 5V wall charger I had lying around, and the radio worked off of the internal battery. It also worked off of AA batteries when I installed them. (Be sure to switch from L-ion to AA when using AA batteries.) I also was able top off charging my cell phone using the internal battery when it was charged up. Again I have no illusions that the radio internal battery would be able to fully charge an charge empty cell phone with either its internal battery or the charging crank, but it hopefully should be able to charge a phone up enough so that it could be used in an emergency to call for help. Perhaps someone would have to continuously charge the phone with the crank so that someone else would be able to have a long enough phone conversation to give emergency responders their location and problem. I ended up purchasing a separate table radio for home use that can work off of both an AC wall plug and D batteries with no Weather band channel so as to keep the little Prunus Emergency Radio always on stand by for emergencies. I did a lot of searching and research before deciding upon an emergency radio and all in all, so far, I think purchasing this little Prunus emergency radio was a good choice for my needs without breaking the bank.

The best emergency weather radio hands down!
I was expecting something that felt super cheap - i was pleasantly surprised. The Prunus J-369 weather radio has the option to use AA batteries while still having a rechargeable battery inside. To be clear, the AA batteries won't charge your phone - only the built in battery bank will. The weather band frequencies come in clearly, as do the am and fm bands. The solar panel will not charge this unit in any reasonable amount of time, but it can trickle charge the unit over a long period. The hand crank is the more reliable option. The reception is very good for a radio of it's size, and the unit overall is extremely easy to use. Another great feature is the reading light, which sips the battery and provides just enough light to work by in an emergency. Overall, i love this little emergency radio for the AA battery option. Every other feature is just a bonus.

Not bad, good for emergencies
Cool features but the plastic feels kind of cheap. I would have paid more for one made of steel.

It works and sounds good, too.
I’m prepared for any loss of electricity in my 100% electric house. The sound quality is good on FM too. A very good purchase for my EMERGENCY CARE KIT.

Perfect! No electric or batteries required!
BRIGHT! I love that it's rechargeable, can take batteries & even can be cranked for a couple mins for hours of radio. It's awesome, definitely a good buy!

This is WELL worth the money
At first we gave this a 3 star but we are changing it to a 5 star. We really got a chance to play with it after our internet went down for 2 days which means our phones didn't work as we live in a rural area. Wow! It was great to be able to have some music playing or hearing some news. The emergency broadcast is awesome. It does drift but for all the features it is WELL worth the money.
