Update: Bought a second one for my covered outdoor chicken run, my first one is still working great and I've connected them both to the LUXBIRD Digital Heat Mat Thermostat Controller, which turns them on and off according to the temperatures I set. Now to address a couple reviews that gave less stars stating there are sharp edges and the clips are too tight..I can find no sharp edges on either of my fans and as for the tight clips that hold the front and back grates together, well they need to be tight to keep they fan from vibrating apart during normal operation. This is the Wall Mount Closed Motor fan. I find that it is very well made for an industrial type, heavy duty fan. It can be mounted to the wall or ceiling. I mounted one each way, I did use heavy duty hex head bolts for mounting and drilled the two outside mounting holes a bit wider as only the center hole is bigger. This is a great fan for many installations, my chickens definitely enjoy perching in front of them on hot days and night. These would be good for horse stalls, cattle barns, workshops, etc. Mounted this in my chicken coop for night use to blow on the roost area. Researched several sealed motor fans, this one seemed to fit all my requirements. Even on low, it moves a lot of air, haven't needed to use the high setting. I also have a sealed motor exhaust fan in the loft of the coop that runs day and night, but needed a fan to blow directly on one area of the roosts, that way the chickens can choose how much air they need when it's hot all night. I did mount the fan to a 2x4 for added stability, this fan is heavy and I used heavier duty screws than those that came with the fan and used all 3 mounting holes. Depending on which way you mount it, you can move the direction it blows. Have been using it a few months now and it's working great. Even running all night the motor cover is not too hot to touch. Definitely would recommend this fan.

Bought this fan for our porch. Keeps us cool and also helps keep mosquitos away at night. Lowest speed is very relaxing. Higher speeds have plenty more power than we need for our purposes. Installation was quick and easy. It’s been holding up well outside. Don’t hesitate to buy this one. Very happy so far.

I absolutely love these fans! We built three horse stalls, and I didn’t want to chance using the cheap box fans. The horses love the fans, and I’m thankful that I don’t have to be concerned with overheating or an open motor that collects dirt and debris. We mounted them all in the top left corner of the stall angled slightly downward. It makes a nice airflow throughout the stall and is high enough up that the horses can’t mess with them. I am working on making covers to throw over them in the winter time, since they are permanently mounted. I plan to buy two more for use in our chicken barn! Some reviews mentioned noise, but I haven’t had any issues with them. They seem quiet to me- even on the highest settings.

I bought 7 of these fans two years ago for my horse barn to keep dust out of the motors. After a couple months, one of the switches went out. I went to the local hardware store and bought a replacement for less than $10. Since then, they have run great and the noise level is more than acceptable. I think now the bearings have rusted in one - even though it still works, the noise level is unacceptable. But these are nice fans overall so I just bought a replacement.

This review is for the 20” wall mounted fan. It is being used under an outdoor pergola. To be clear- I installed a dark brown colored roofing material over the top seasons ago, to provide more shade than a typical slatted roof, so there is already some temperature cooling going on. With that said, south Florida in the summer, doesn’t let up, and sitting, even in the shade, can be unbearable. Humidity is extraordinarily high. THIS FAN- quickly changed the game. Installation: I removed the mounting bracket by unscrewing the two knobs, and also I unclipped the fan cage, to get access to the knob bolts. From the pictures, you can see I positioned the bracket on the inner facing wood beam, which would allow the fan to blow air centrally across the pergola space. I used a single, heavy duty bolt screw (from my tool box) to secure the bracket to the wood beam, placed in the center hole (I did not screw any bolts into the other two holes- to allow for pivoting). My wife and I worked together to reattach the fan cage (careful not to lose the small screw and nut at the bottom center of the cage housing. It secures the bottom nicely. The latch clips around the fan housing are basic enough. Once the fan was mounted to the bracket, we plugged it in, tested the three speeds and enjoyed the breeze. I should’ve done this years ago. I’m typically do not like pull cords on fans, as all too often the connector channel gets worn out and the chain breaks etc… this one is long enough (for my positioning) and moves smoothly to operate the speeds. I’m sure it will last awhile. Excellent upgrade to an otherwise unbearable living space under the pergola. Happy.

Overall I think the value for the money and quality of the fan is great. Would definitely recommend buying. The only negative I would have would be the install. The bolts that came in the package are pretty small for the fan size. Also the instructions aren’t very good. Lastly, I found it easier to take the bracket off the fan to mount that first and then attach the fan when the mount is secure. However the bolts that hold the fan to the bracket are inside the fan housing so you have to be SUPER careful to not push the bolts out and fall into the fan (this would make sense when you see it). If they did, you can take the fan cage off but it would add several steps and delay the install process. Would be nice if the bolts in the fan were installed to not move so the fan could easily be removed from the bracket without worrying about the bolts moving out of place.

I have a barn in my backyard for my horses. I needed a fan that would last more than a year, as the box fans that came with the barn, were kind of rigged, and would get filled with dust and cobwebs that would destroy the motor quickly, which is why I wanted a sealed motor. I hung the fan over the stall, turned it on, and on the lowest fan setting, provides a lot of power. More than I thought it would. It is definitely noisy, but in the barn, neither I, nor my horses really care, especially on an 80+ degree day. The only other test now is time. This is the first summer with this fan, so I will be curious to see if it holds up for two+ more. So far, i recommend.

Awesome fan. Mounted in the garage for hot summer days. Quiet, powerful.

Un producto muy bueno, el precio es justo, materiales de buena calidad. El motor tiene bastante potencia, lo tengo en el nivel más bajo y funciona excelente. No recomendaría para interior por el hecho de que sería muy ruidoso, para exteriores está más que excelente. La movilidad es muy buena también, se puede ajustar la dirección en todas las direcciones y tiene la opción de instalar sobre pared o sobre techo (yo lo fije sobre techo).

A little heavy for my grow tent but it works awesome. Hopefully it lasts a lifetime. Very heavy duty.
