Quick fix for smoking blender
I ordered this 10 years ago, having had a Vitamix blender for 5 years at the time. I like to be prepared! Anyway, after continued daily use, I finally needed it today. There was an awful smoky burning smell coming from the existing drive socket but with the replacement in place it's all good to go again. It took about 10 minutes to do the job. Note that you need a blob of silicone sealant to finish the job.

Genuine vitamix drive socket
I previously bought a non Vitamix drive socket from china which was a complete waste of time and money as it isn’t balanced as a genuine model is and it ran like a marble in a biscuit tin. As soon as I bought this genuine one and fitted it everything was nice and quite. Runs like a sweetie now..

Didn’t really need this part but as I replaced the blade, I thought I should do the job thoroughly.

Great replacement
This was a great replacement for the one that had stopped working. Relieved that it worked so can use my vitamin again. Bit fiddly to install.

Seems ok so far...
Only time will tell if this will be as durable as the original but so far so good. The supplied Allan key and instructions were simple, clear and easy to follow.
