Our Hardy Water Lilies Rhizomes are extremely easy to grow to maturity in ponds or deck and patio containers. Important things to remember: Place the tubers at a 45° angle with the non-growing end against the side of the pot and the crown(where the leaves come out) towards the middle of the pot. Add fertilizer for water lilies. Lilies are heavy feeders and should be fertilized regularly. Press the soil around the roots, being careful not to cover the crown of the plant. They should be placed at a water depth of 6" to 12". When placing lilies in the pond, position them away from waterfalls and fountains as they prefer still water. Review: Perfect Bloom - I recently made my second purchase of the Aqualeaf Aquatics Live Water Lily Tuber in Purple, and based on last year’s experience, I couldn’t be more excited. The first tuber I received arrived healthy and well-packaged, with a firm rhizome that showed no signs of rot. After planting it in my pond, it established itself quickly—new leaves appeared within a week, and by the sixth week, I was enjoying rich, purple blooms that added a stunning focal point to my garden. The plant continued to thrive throughout the season, producing flowers consistently and requiring minimal care. While I’ve seen some reviewers mention receiving tubers that were soft or failed to grow, I personally had a very positive experience. The key, I believe, was planting it promptly and following the care instructions closely. My water lily not only survived but flourished, even with some shifting temperatures later in the season. I’ve since recommended Aqualeaf Aquatics to fellow pond enthusiasts for their quality plants and responsive customer service. Now that I’ve received my second order, I’m looking forward to seeing these new lilies perform just as the one from last year. The tubers once again arrived in excellent condition, and I’ve already placed them in the pond. If they do as well as before, I’m confident my pond will be bursting with color and life all summer long. Review: FAIL - We ordered this Water Lily, planted it immediately as instructed... We then waited a couple of weeks and saw no change, root growth, flower stems shoots, etc., nothing... Decided to give it a little more time and immediately after the Holiday, checked it again, still nothing... It appears the plant was DOA, contacted seller today, and surprise, item does not qualify for returns... If you'd like to feel like you've been completely ripped off, buy one today!!

Beautiful lilies that keep growing
Beautiful flowers and they come back great every year. The lily pads keep growing more and more each season, and they look amazing in my pond. Very happy with this purchase.

Great aquatic plant
The tuber arrived an unimpressive thing, with one healthy leaf sticking out of its crown and nothing else. I planted it just as the instructions directed and wow, it has grown like crazy. I've rarely seen a plant grow this fast from virtually nothing. It hasn't flowered yet, but is already putting numerous lily pads at the surface, less than a month after planting. Given this alone, I'm very happy with it. Planted June 9, ~12" below the water line, in a pot filled with alternating layers of seachem fluorite and fluval stratum aquasoil, each layer containing root tabs from a bag of ADA Amazonia v2. A very nutrient-rich substrate. Sixteen gallon planter pond, dechlorinated tap water, 7.5 pH, ~5 GH, ~5 KH.

It’s finally growing!
After a month and a half in my pond I can see the lily leaves are starting form. It’s not quite reaching water surface level yet. I will update later in the summer. Hopefully by then I will have flowers blooming. My other older lilies are already blooming. But these have been in my pond for over ten years now. They come back quick and fast each spring. Update 6/22/2024: leaves are growing well. Here are latest photos. I included one of my existing yellow lilies for size comparison. I’ll share another update and photo when the red lily flowers bloom. Update 9/20/2024: plant appears healthy and leaves continue to grow. But no blooms this summer. All my old lilies had many blooms. Maybe next summer?

Ask if fish will eat or interrupt growth!
It came quickly and with full instructions to plant immediately. It was doing great for 4-5 days until I saw parts of each Lilly starting to die. I finally caught the reason why!……… my very large 8 inch fantail goldfish eating them. I also have 3 14-17 inch koi that I am afraid my be eating them as well. I will keep you updated!!
