So the item arrived quickly, in a well prepared package. There was an issue with the extendable portion immediately when I took it out of the box. The lower section pulled out all the way without stopping, the plastic internal stop was obviously broken. I contacted the seller and advised them of the damaged item. I offered to keep the item & attempt to make a fix rather than having the seller send another. They promptly refunded me the entire purchase price.The weak point of this item is definitely the plastic stop, collar & pin in the lower and upper shaft. The rest of the material & design looks to be sufficient for what it was designed to do.I found a small bolt & nut in my hardware drawer, drilled a pilot hole through both shafts, installed the two shafts and tightened up the nut! Perfect. Works like a champ. Yeah it doesn’t collapse but I prolly would have never used it that way much anyway. After having two lower back fusions in the last couple years this STRONG magnet helps tremendously when I drop something metal. It will pick up a decent size pice of metal when needed..

I am very happy with this purchase. It exceeded my expectations. Very nice quality, with a strong magnet. The handle is nice and comfortable to grip as well. It extends and locks in place with a simple twist. I bought this for picking up my spent shotgun shells when I am Trap Shooting. Because the magnetic base is wide and the magnet is strong. I can pick up a full box of 25 spent shotgun shells with it, no problem. Of course the base of the Target Shells I shoot are made of steel, so the magnet works wonderfully. So glad I picked this particular tool. If you are a Clay Target Shooter, and are looking for a pick up tool, this is the one I would recommend.

I got this to pick up nails when I got a new roof. It was really fun to wander around and here the "click" every time a nail was picked up by the magnet. This one is a better design than some others because it is one full magnet on the bottom versus several small pieces of magnets.

Ours arrived today. Opened the end of the box and 2 pieces came out. The section with the magnet would not lock in place in the end with the red handle. The red locking mechanism is a joke. Returned it to Amazon and will be purchasing a different product.

Nice magnet, sturdy two-piece tubing, and a nice vinyl handgrip. Slides freely from fully closed to fully extended, and will not lock at any position. Smaller diameter tube slides and rotates without any kind of detention, anywhere. Came out of the box that way, nothing visibly broken, no loose fragments. Just a really bad design, I guess. Don't buy this one unless you're ready to fix it to use it.

Powerful little thing. I don't know if it could hold 50 pounds but it will for sure pick up multiple screwdrivers and wrenches no problem. Been nice using it to find the dropped screws in the grass from building projects and even ornament hooks that fell on the carpet no one could find.

My daughter uses this to find sewing needles that she dropped on the floor or on her bed. She's in a wheelchair and finds this easy and convenient to use.

The item looks sturdy and the magnet is strong and well locked on. However this thing is supposed to expand out to its full length, and lock in that position with a twist. Mine right out of the box did not! Amazon being the awesome customer service company it is issued a refund. I will not buy this item again, and cannot recommend it to anyone.

I'm actually surprised, this is one of the better quality products I've ever found on Amazon. All metal rod, thick grippable handle, and the magnet is a good size. Before I got it, I wished I could find something with a larger magnet to cover more ground, but after using this, I realized if there was anything bigger, it would be too heavy to use without straining the wrists. Very happy with my purchase.

Excellent Quality, Sturdy but 4 star as the “Head” should be larger . I use this to check for nails under my tires before I drive off! Good practice every morning to avoid a Flat Tire!!!I leave this in my car.

Well made, came quickly, just what I expected.

The extendable handle would not stay extended from day one and broke in half in two days. The magnet was okay but the handle was useless
