One fly got in during the summer, found our guinea pig cage, and next thing we knew there were dozens of flies. I bought these as a pet-safe way to help catch existing files while we worked on scrubbing the guinea pig enclosure to remove the root of the problem.They did help, although with two caveats: First, I didn't notice any flies on them during the day, only overnight. And only the one in a room with no other light caught much. The little UV light did seem to attract them, but not until it was the only light source in the room. Second, they seem to work better higher up: counter height outlets will be more successful than floor height.They did help. But for the money, we ended up catching way more flies much more quickly with a couple of old fashioned sticky fly strip rolls.The takeaway: If you need something discreet to catch one or two wayward flies overnight, then these are a good option. But if you need to solve an acute problem quickly, then these aren't nearly as helpful as sticky strips.

At first I was disappointed by this because I had dozens of flies in the house and I didn’t see a single one on the trap. Then I noticed they were all on the backside of the strip, out of sight. The tape is decently effective although I still have more success with clear strips I affix to windows.

It works just fine, easy to use, no smell and the light functions good as a nightlight. I gave this 4 stars only because the insert card is BRIGHT YELLOW, this makes it ugly.(If it were white then it would be more eye appeasing and blend more into the background.)

If your home has other lights on or light coming in from the windows, it won't work well. It needs to be the brightest thing around. It's good at catching the fruit flies/gnats, but anything larger doesn't seem to care.

Honestly I didn't think these were even working for the first few days we had them. They're definitely less immediately effective than using the apple traps or just some vinegar and dish soap, but after having them on for a couple of weeks they're definitely catching flies. If you need an immediate solution, I'd stick to the classics, but if you want a passive and less gross way to keep flies at bay long term, I think these are helpful. Really easy to use and they only look gross if you look super close so they're less obtrusive than the apple traps.

Caught quite a few of those annoying buggers. However, what I was hoping for was that regular flies would be attracted to it. Not to be! Those little B’s flew right past, laughing the whole time! Had to use the fly spray on the window sill to get them!!!!UPDATE!!!! It caught one!!!! And the light wasn’t even turned on!

Despite our best efforts, mosquitos find their way into the house. After seeing a commercial for a sticky light trap, I saw this product and decided to give it a try. I found it easy to insert the sticky sheet and after a few days, I started to see results. Once the flying insects land on the sticky sheet, they did not leave. The sheet stickiness does last and the light glow is soft and not bothersome.This product does not prevent the mosquitos from finding us, but we have found we are not bothered as much as we were previously. Once they find the sticky pad, they will not be bothering us. We are super pleased.Just to note, the seller did offer an incentive for a favorable review.
