The clockspring mechanism is very difficult to install.Once fully assembled it would not walk. All parts did seem to move/rotate freely so I suspect that there is an intermittent jam somewhere. So full dis-assembly will be required to find the fault.Edit: Oct 2024 - UGears have now offered me a full refund, which I've accepted. I think I will still consider buying other UGears products in the future ...they are actually very well made. Just, in this case, for whatever reason, the walking mechanism didn't function.

Another great model from Ugears. This one will test your skills. Use plenty of glass paper and candle wax to make gears and legs work smoothly

This is a detailed and intricate 3D puzzle designed for adults who like a challenge. The wooden pieces are high quality and fit together ideally, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow, even for someone like me who isn't super handy. What really impressed me is the level of detail. The finished Stegosaurus has these amazing lifelike mechanics-the jaw opens and closes, the neck and tail can be positioned, and the iconic plates on its back are even adjustable. The final model is impressive, with intricate details that capture the essence of the dinosaur.

I was really looking forward to building this Triceratops as I love dinos and crafting/building! I was expecting the build to be challenging but ultimately fun and rewarding. Unfortunately my experience with this kit was difficult, uncomfortable and frustrating. You have to use a lot of force to get the pieces together which are sometimes tiny, this made it quite tricky and hurt my fingers but I understand the need for the pieces to be solidly connected. The waxing is a very dull and messy process but I persevered because it's important for the movement. I worked my way through to getting the main cog section all together and moving, it didn't work at first but with some messing it was moving smoothly how it's supposed to. Then I put in the pendulum piece (b5) and I cannot for the life of me get it to run smoothly, both myself and my partner have tried for hours to get this thing to work and it just won't play ball. We've rewaxed, sanded, rebuilt, tried to work the mechanism through, checked each piece, nothing has worked and we are left frustrated and confused as to why this one single piece is causing so much heartache. We are not beginners with this kind of thing either. I haven't gone any further with the build yet because I haven't decided if I should give up on the movement or not.The wood is good quality and suprisingly strong but you still need to be careful not to snap pieces with the force required to put them together. The pieces are nicely cut and the numbering is clear and easy to understand. The instructions are really good, very clear and easy to read, along with the assembly video you aren't left questioning any steps. I think they could improve the instructions by offering some troubleshooting advice.Overall this has not been the enjoyable build I was expecting and I'm very disappointed that after trying everything I can think of, it still doesn't work. At least I can have a nice non-moving model if I finish it.

Bought this item as a birthday present for someone who likes a challenge and also loves dinosaurs haven’t had any pictures of it completed yet

Very happy with this UGears Triceratops Dinosaur Wooden Model Kit. This kit was excellent to put together and good fun.Love that the dinosaurs head tail and jaws move.Would make an excellent gift for dinosaur or puzzle lovers. Great for teenagers or adults.Well made, good value and great quality.

I liked this a lot - it's fun and challenging to put together, and it looks great when fully assembled. It's great for kids to spend time away from a screen and working together to put this kit together was a great use of a weekend. It's nice to look at a shelf ornament and feel a sense of accomplishment. Absolutely great.
