Yupik Organic Ground Date Powder (Meal), 2.2 lb, Non-GMO, Vegan, Gluten-Free

I bought Yupik Organic Ground Date Powder to cut back on refined sugar, and also to get my dates intake this way when I was pregnant, and overall I’m happy with it. It’s made from 100% organic ground dates, with no additives, and it arrived fresh and well packaged. The taste is naturally sweet with a mild caramel-like flavor. It’s not as sweet as regular sugar, so it’s not a 1:1 substitute, but it works really well in things like oatmeal, smoothies, yogurt, and baked goods. The texture is more of a fine meal than a powder, so it doesn’t fully dissolve in drinks like coffee or tea. Because of that, I think it’s best for baking or blending rather than stirring into liquids. The 2.2 lb bag is a good value and lasts a long time. Just keep in mind it can slightly change the texture of recipes since it’s made from whole dates. Overall, this is a great option if you’re looking for a clean, natural sweetener and don’t mind adjusting recipes a bit. I’d bought it four times and will keep buying even now after pregnancy, to avoid refined sugar but get some healthier sweetness

I'm a Cacao farmer in Hawaii and this made the best sugar free chocolate bar. I made a 70% Cacao with 30% Date Powder and Melanged the chocolate for 48 hours and it came out super smooth and tempered very well. A few bars I added a little Hawaiian Sea Salt and they came out amazing!

Tastes like dates. Good to add to my mix of healthy powders to make it taste better. Has good health benefits like energy is what I’ve heard. (Edit) After experiencing it. I’ve added a little teaspoon or two with a teaspoon of instant coffee. Wow. It gave me a mood boost and the energy level is nothing I ever experienced. Try it for yourself, enjoy. The full mix I used (affordable): premium ginger powder in bulk (2-5 pounds), moringa leaf powder, acai powder (add boiled water to make it pulpy), baobab powder (a little sweet tart taste), cinnamon powder, and lastly fruity powder like orange, lime, lemon, grapefruit. Comes in little perfect packages. My super healthy green mix. Enjoy. Edit again and I add lemongrass powder and cinnamon and still tastes wonderful. I stand mood energy booster. Add matcha green tea if you need even more energy boost. Davidsons bulk matcha is the best deal.

This organic date sugar powder is my favorite due to the light taste and fair price.

I purchased this to use to make protein bars. Instead of actual dates that i have to blend…or date paste which is perfect but usually more than i need and hard to work with. So, i bought this to try it out, it works good nuff…with bananas, protein powder, oats, dried fruits, some walnuts, and into the freezer. Voila. It took some trial and error to get the right date to water ratio, but since its a powder, I dont waste any.

Incredible stuff! I taste tested it at first because I was curious, I never heard of date powder. It taste very sweet and the texture gives me the impression that the fiber is still in tact, so I assume it’s not processed from date syrup, I think.. my only gripe is I wish there was more info on how this product is processed to bring the dates to a powder texture. Are they freeze dried and then ground up? That’s my guess, since dates are very sticky. Knowing this would also help me figure out if this powder needs to stay in the fridge or not, because freeze dried fruits need to be after breaking the package seal. Either way, this is a game changer for me, since I stopped using added sugars and sweeteners, besides dates and fruits of course.

This is a really fine powder, but don't expect it to behave like granulated sugar. It is just ground dates, so it will never dissolve like sugar (if that's what you have in mind). Also, it isn't the same sweetness. You need a lot more if you want to achieve the same result. But. If you are looking for a natural sweetener with all the fiber and minerals intact, this is PERFECT! It would work well in baking, cooking, and so much more, where date paste throws off the texture. I use it in my coffee. Yes it isn't super sweet. Yes it leaves a gritty residue. But I froth it up with my Nutpods half and half and it makes the best coffee foam. At $20 for 2 pounds, it is expensive. But there are a lot of teaspoons of powder in the bag, so it will last a long time just for my coffee. I can't believe I waited so long to try date powder!

Great sugar replacement. Added it to my bread recipes and it helped improved the bread’s flavor (yeasted bread dough). Great for desserts. Has a malty, caramelly flavor. Pleased with my purchase, as with all of Yupik’s products. High quality, decent prices.
