BTT has bad quality control and CAN transceivers are known to blow up even from well respected companies, so this isn't a great combination. But this is a cost effective solution and works most of the time. Thankfully, I didn't get a lemon with my U2C. It was extremely easy to use and setup. This is pretty much plug and play. You put it into boot mode, you update the firmware from github, and then you have a working CAN connection to your toolhead.

This is the perfect addition to a Voron to support a tool board if you don't trust Octopus Canbus.
I added TAP, and a Canbus board to my Voron 2.4. The default Octopus 1.1 board I have read that the Canbus on the controller is not as stable as you could hope. This board paired with the EBB2240 board is a perfect match. I am running a pair of them and once I configured it I have had no issues after I made sure that the fan board did not short to the mylar sticker on the fan in the Stealthburner tool head. For set up instructions. Google Esoterical Canbus Guide for the best instructions on how to do this without driving your self crazy. The jump to can bus is the best upgrade I have made. No more surprise broken wires in the cable chains.

Almost perfect
I'm using this on my latest printer build to keep the hotend wire count low. Works great now. I'm not sure if I had an old batch, but the original firmware was sending packets out of order and causing errors in klipper. I flashed the latest firmware from their GitHub page and the errors went away. Been great ever since!

Wasted 2 weeks trying to get this to work! Get a FYSTEC UCAN instead.
I'm a very experienced Linux user, and tried everything to get this to work. From the official V2.1 (upgraded) firmware from BTT to re-compiling candlelight_fw and such, to using Katapult and klipper, and no options ever got me to be able to talk to my toolhead board (EBB 2209 2040). This is despite the adapter seeming to be registered as can0 on my rpi ok. After almost two weeks of screwing around with this on and off, I decided to get another CAN adapter (FYSTEC UCAN). It's cheaper even! and it just worked. No issues.
