before the invasion.
Fantastic book on early motorcycle history with plenty of gorgeous pictures. Lots of info I didn't know about British bikes.

My restoration
I was delighted to see a 1928 'works' Isle-of-Man TT Scott, restored by me, starring on the front cover of this new book, and also appearing on page 44, even if, sadly, I did not get a mention by name.... The rest of the book is very good, but it suffers from being too small for the subject, and could really have been at least twice as large in order to have more text and larger, clearer photos. However, well done Mr. Jackson !

The British Motorcycle Story
I think Colin has made a pretty good job of putting this book together,It shows how the british bike was developed over the years, with a lot of detail to the The British Motorcycle Story , I had the pleasure of meeting Colin at last years IOM Manx, and will be asking him this year to sign my copy Ron

Interesting but the title is misleading...
I read this little book in one sitting and thought it interesting rather than generally informative and far removed from being an authoritative & comprehensive history of The British Motorcycle. It's more about Colin Jackson's memories, thoughts, interests & preferences. None of this is bad - In fact as I said earlier it's interesting - but not quite what the title leads you to believe. However, the photography is excellent and the images of the Brough Superior - for me - worth the £9.99. So providing you ignore the expectations generated by the title it's a decent short & interesting read and for me worth the £9.99. I'm no motorbike expert but my cousins were bike dealers & at one time racers so I grew up with motorbikes in the 1950's/60's and can vividly remember many of the machines of the 1930's through to the end of classic British bike production.
