Obsessed
My little one (LO) is now 18 months and has had a six month obsession with this book. We read it everyday, sometimes multiple times a day. Some of my LO’s first words came straight from reading this book, like: bed, brush, shoes, and pajamas (although she still struggles to say that last word, lol). Got this book because of all the great reviews but honestly never thought it would have such a great impact. With kids you really never know what they’ll fall in love with. I highly recommend.

3 year old sat still and let me read to him
This is the first Little Critter book I've purchased and overall, I'm very happy. I bought this for my 3 year old who is more than capable of doing many things on his own, but plays "helpless" when Mama is around. I've seen him engaging with Little Critter content on his Fire tablet, so I knew he had some interest in the character. This book was great-- very quick read, engaging illustrations and, for an adult, really easy to "chime in" to the story (without losing momentum) to make it relevant to their child (ie "little critter climbs into bed...just like you climb into your bed..." etc.). My 3 year old has the attention span of a 3 year old and, unlike most of his other "age appropriate" books, he'll actually sit still and let me read this to him. Great price as well. Would highly recommend.

Great toddler book, but short
My daughter is just about two and a half, and I think this book is perfect for her. The topic is spot on for her age and the writing is clear and right at her level of understanding. She almost always asks me to read it again. It is pretty short though.

Encourages Independence
This is a simply story of Little Critter telling us all the things he can do by himself. Age appropriate for about 3-6 years old. Even though Little Critter isn't doing every activity perfectly (spilling juice and making messes) he is trying and feeling good and independent. Basically it shows Little Critter being proud of the things he can do well and the things he's learning to do, which is great for little kids because they identify with Little Critter and see they can feel proud about the things they do.My daughter is a little perfectionist and won't try something unless she knows she'll be good at it, or gives up on trying the first couple of times she fails. So seeing Little Critter spilling juice while saying, "I can pour juice" (yeah he's pouring it just not in a cup haha!) tells her that it's okay to not get it right every time.Unlike other reviews have said, I don't think this teaches a child anything negative or shows them the wrong way to do something. They can clearly see that Little Critter is messing up, but that's good for them because they can think, "He's just like me, he also makes mistakes." Meanwhile Little Critter is still proud of himself, because he tried. This is so encouraging and not to be underestimated.
