My new Favorite Author
I found Craig Alanson randomly on Audible with his book, Columbus Day. I quickly fell in love with the Expenditionary Force series. When I finished that series, I picked up his Convergence series. Since then I have read all of his books (Expenditionary Force 3 x and Convergence 2x). His writing is entertaining, funny and easy to read. His characters are easy to connect with. I have since gotten my wife and neighbors into his books and we often spend time referencing and discussing his books. I highly recommend all books by Craig Alanson.

I absolutely LOVE this series!
I absolutely LOVE this series! I wait and watch the release date getting closer and closer until it’s finally uploaded. Most of the time it’s a binge read because I usually can’t put it down. However, this time the release was during the holiday season and so my experience was different. Not in a bad way, just different. The storyline was excellent, as usual & the character’s performances wonderful. The one thing in this particular book that is different from all the rest in this series is the amount of errors not found through prerelease editing. I would be willing to bet there are more in this book than in all the other books put together. That is a major discrepancy, a divergent from this author’s other books. It’s just not usually like that. I can only guess that he was rushing to hit the release date, which is unfortunate, but the good news is this issue can easily be remedied with a digital update. ( uuuuh….I’m totally guessing that’s an easy process, but it may not be or it might be costly. I’m not sure.) A printed correction is a whole different affair, I’m sure. Besides that one issue, bottom line, it’s a great story, as usual. Skippy the Magnificent is back and ready to take names! To the author:My kindle is broken so I read this on my iPhone. Unfortunately, the iPhone kindle app does not have the same ability to send a correction/comment (with each encounter as you read) to authors as the actual Kindle. (Someone needs to tell them to fix that!) The only way to make corrections was in the highlights portion so that’s what I did. If you can access those comments in the highlight section then you have my permission (if needed) to access them. I hope I found them all and will save you some time and headache. If you can’t access them then I could probably send them to an email as a copy from my Notes section. Just let me know. 👍

great book, lousy editing
This is the first book in the series since the first few that appears to have been proofread by someone not paying attention. Ignoring inconsistencies in the capabilities of various things that should have been caught by the author as well as anyone lending it who’s read the earlier books, this one was rife with missing words , mixed up sentences, and conversations where at some point, a bit of dialog must have been left out, because the two people talking switch, someone gets two ones in a row punctuated like it’s a change in the person talking, so it gets confusing. But the story was great, on par with the earlier books for sure. Great to see the merry band back in action.

Fun journey
This entire series was very good. Lots of hard sci-fi and also comedy. The author did a great job and I recommend his books.

Another great Skippy and Joe adventure
Another fun book even without most of the Merry Band of Pirates. There was a lot more review of past shenanigans in this book as it is the first one since the supposed end of the series. It was a bit odd in that sense compared to the other books, but at the same time it was nice to have the review. A lot has happened over time and while most of it stays in the memory pretty easily because of how crazy it is, there are one or two things that it's nice to have a review of. There seemed to be a lot going on in the background that would just randomly pop up in the story. That part was a bit odd, but overall the story was still a lot of fun.

Needs editing but a must read if you are a fan of Skippy
I enjoyed this series and thought it was done. But another book appeared which is great news. Would have given 5 stars if not for 2 prob!ems. The book is full of typos; very poor editing (if any at all) and the storyline seemed to jump periodically leaving me wondering how the plot went from point A to point C with nothing to connect them. Several times I went back to re-read pages to see if I missed something but I hadn't. That being said, this is a continuation of a great, enjoyable series. Don't miss it.

Great story all the way through the series!
This author writes well and the story is just fun all the way through. Higher end content, good dialogue and frying pan to the fire entertainment. Also, I get a good chuckle every once in a while. I actually gave this a 5 star. Usually I won't do better than 3. It seems every review I read has 4 1/2 stars... Really? That is just not realistic. But in this case, yeah. It's really good enough to keep me coming back to the series and paying good money to do it.

It's more ex force, if you know it you'll probably love it
Ok there a bit of a disconnect due to the amount of time passed in universe and possibly a slightly different tone to the story, it feels like Jo got a bit of off screen character development which was a bit jarring since I basically re binged the series first but I got back into it, id read a different book between this and the last one cuz it makes absolute narrative sense that they'd be a time skip after the last one. so I'm not complaining just saying you know?👍🐒🐒

TTA (Trust the Awesomeness)
I have loved this series since it started. When the story arc of the first 15 books ended, I was sad it had come to an end, but very glad I'd taken the ride on Craig Alanson's imagination and writing. His announcement that he had another five books in mind boosted my moral immensely, and #16 has exceeded my expectations. Sort of - I trusted Craig's awesomeness, and just like Skippy, he delivered. Reader's who've read the series will know what I mean. For those who haven't read it yet, strap in for one of the best romps of adventure, pathos, and fun (especially the blowing up stuff parts ;) ) you will ever read. Aliens invade the Earth, and humans are drug into a millenium long war, needing to find a way to survive. The universe discovers it it not prepared for what us monkey's can do, especially when we're assisted by the last viable AI of the elder race. The aliens are alien, but relatable. The main characters, even the bad guys, are realistic and grow with time. The plot twists keep it fresh and exciting. Craig's writing style will take you on a roller coaster ride of tension, ups and down all over the emotional spectrum, and the humour on nearly every page will have you laughing so hard and loud, people around you will wonder if you're in your right mind. If you're reading the series, you are.Yes, you have to start with book 1 (Columbus Day), but once you start, you'll be hooked. Just Trust the Awesomeness.
