It has 6 different height levels for pull ups The Elite model can be assembled in the dipping mode at a height of 40" which is also useful for Aussie pull ups (down under) Lay under the unit ,leaving the feet on the floor while pulling up the upper half of the body . For those who cannot do a regular pull up, its a great way to gain strength without struggling. The neutral grip handles provide leverage for doing knee raises to strengthen the abs and upper thighs

Review: Great Alternative to the Door Pullup Bar - So, I had a door pullup bar for p90x. I live in an old brownstone and did my best to secure it. Unfortunately, it was not terribly stable and came loose and hit me in the head. I searched for another solution and found the Elite XL and the the Tactical Athletic T.A.P.S (tactical athlete pull-up system). Both are considered portable. However, the T.A.P.S unit requires a wrench to assemble/disassemble. The Elite XL doesn't require any tools. The unit is 92" (7'8") tall which, with 8ft ceiling, the 4" difference is enough to get thing assembled. I am able to set the bar so I am 1/4" off the floor. I am 6'ft. I would certainly not kip on the unit. But as a pull-up bar for traditional pull-ups, wide pull-ups, chin ups, vaulter pull-ups, etc, the unit is much more stable and I feel much safer than I ever did with the door unit. It can also be configured 1/2 height and be used for dips (with the neutral handles) and for exercises working up to full pull-ups. Also, pre-sale and post-sale questions were answer very promptly by the Trapeze Rigging's owner. A little more detail on the Elite XL vs. the "Standard" Model sold by Trapeze: The Elite XL has the stability bar mount points wielded to the feet of the unit. The cross bar then attached and screwed down with handles. The Elite XL is, as noted, 92". The Standard unit is 77". The Standard unit does have an optional stability bar that clamps to the base. If you want the XL Elite and it is to tall, you can order it directly from their site and ask for a custom height. Assembly/disassemble, as noted by another review, took less time that removing the very securely tapped bubble wrap packing the unit came wrapped in. On the Trapeze Rigging's site, they also refer you the book "Men's Health Your Body is Your Barbell" by BJ Gddour that features the unit. I also recommend that book. This is the one piece of home gym equipment that provides one of the best workout exercises you can do for yourself.
Review: You probably want to also buy the bag - IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY PROFICIENT AT PULL UPS buy the stabilizer bar from the manufacturer web site (Trapezerigging.com) which is another $90 it helps provide peace of mind when you're using the product. If you and your friends are already proficient then you can rest assured the product is what is described. It can be put up and taken down easily and is well built. It's made of a polished steel which is all good. The welds make it cute and show it's assembled by hand. The instructions are missing pictures so can be a little daunting but if you look at the pictures on the manufacturer web site you can figure it out. For $350 there is no bag, that's a feature and if you want this product to actually be portable it's another $35 dollars from the manufacturer web site for a canvas bag.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent piece of equipment, but....
*by J***E on May 15, 2014*

two things. One, it says it takes only 2 minutes to put together. That's a bold faced lie. It takes me about 45 seconds to put mine together, and that's going from the garage to the driveway with the different pieces. Bologna. Two (and this one is a more serious one), as stated elsewhere, this has NO lateral stability. For proponents of the dead hang pull up (and weighted pull ups) like myself, this is not really an issue at all. But anyone looking to kip or do any other violent motion on here (I'm a CrossFitter, so I won't knock kipping pull ups, but I do prefer dead hang. Strongly) will be in a weird situation. Idk if you could try weighting down the base with weight plates, haven't really tried or had a reason to try, but if you want firm stability, this is not for you. That said, this thing can hold a LOT of weight. At 195#, I did a 75# weighted pull up on this thing and it held firm. So for what it is this thing is AMAZING. I'm in love with it, but it's very specific in its use, so keep that in mind.
