Brabantia 415906 Rectangular Touch Bin, 25 L, Steel, Black

I was looking for a tall, narrow kitchen waste bin to fit in quite a tight space. This was the perfect size. I also wanted to have one that opened easily and cleanly. I fell out of favour with foot opening bins years ago because the mechanism always seemed to be a potential dirt and grime trap. I looked and tried out some of the electronic-eye type bins that open as you wave your hand over them but, they seemed over fussy and I had to spend more time than I wanted moving my hand over them. I have no experience, but I also wondered about long term reliability. That brought me to this product. It is neat and tidy, the lid opens cleanly with a simple press on the top and has a nice smooth opening action. There is a neat lip that sits over the bag, trapping it firmly in place. Being tall but narrow, it needs a bespoke bag size, which of course means a higher running cost than if you were able to buy generic bags. I was happy to go with that because t meets my needs in every other way. Recommended

So far as it is possible to describe a waste bin as elegant, this certainly is. The fingerprint-proof surface works well, the bin's small footprint and its slim profile allow it almost to disappear into the kitchen background. I have one - very minor - gripe, which is that the vertical surfaces are slightly curved, so that it doesn't fit perfectly against a wall.In use, it's very practical. The touch-activated lid is positive but responsive and its movement is slightly damped, so that it doesn't open too suddenly. It's easy to load with a liner in such a way that the plastic isn't visible once the top section is replaced.All-in-all, I'm very pleased with it.

Had to order a new bin as purchased a new dishwasher and as it is now full size one our old bin would not fit back in the space we had left for it. Our old bin was the large round one by brabantia and we have always been very happy with it . This new bin looks lovely and of good quality. Lovely smooth opening and closing, the removable bin inside makes it very easy to keep clean. I would recommend this bin, but expensive, but worth the extra I think. You only get what you pay for.

I have one of these in the chrome and I wanted another for recycling because they fit my space perfectly. They no longer do the chrome and the brushed steel would have looked a little odd. I was so glad to find this as it is clear that the bins are for two different purposes. Sorted out my household rubbish once and for all and I know that they will last!

Lovely lookng bin but lid catch has failed after less than 3 weeks of light use. Not what you expect for a product of this price. I have been to the Brabantia website and followed their advice but to no avail. I have now ordered two replacement catches.

I looked at various touch lid bins , but in the end went for product quality and the fact the size of the bin fitted nicely in the small space I have for the bin to live.Touch lid works as expected and as per Brabantia quality stainless finish is great quality and nice touch of air holes in the inner bin liner casing so therefore getting bin bag out when full is no issue!Even get a small quantity of bin liners to try !Scored 4 stars on value just because it is an expensive bin , but I am happy to pay for a quality product.

I bought this on 15 May 2017 and usage is by me as a sole resident here. The automatic lid closer has ceased functioning 5 weeks ago. d I can no longer close the lid. Not very good after 1 year use for a make such as Brabantia.Tried many times to get a replacement catch on Amazon without success. The 2 sets i have bought are incompatible.

I bought cheap bins for years but finally succumbed. This fits perfectly into a corner, but it is a little smaller than I had hoped. However, well worth it.
