To avoid undue pressure on the headphone jack and to keep the unit as motion free as possible you could either: * Use a different set of headphones with a right angled jack. * Punch a small hole in the pocket flap for the straight iPod headphone jack to come out. * Punch a small hole in the bottom of the pouch, and insert the iPod upside down with the straight headphone jack coming out the bottom instead of the top.
