Making sort of a pile of rocks under the last cascade helps cut down on splashing. We have this in our kitchen. It makes less of a mess than our poodle at least. Downside is one of my kids was doing remote school within earshot, resulting in many more bathroom breaks required. Box came pretty banged up, but the fountain itself was well protected in lots of foam so no damage at all. Also, it is under cover and not in direct weather. Within 1.5 weeks it was rusting. I give it 3 stars for appearance, but would only give it 1 star in quality. Not worth the purchase price.
