Liked this film, quite an unusual plot that, although not super-complex, I thought worked well. The film was over quickly for me which meant it hadn't dragged at-all.Michelle Rodgriguez plays the lead character in this film, and in my opinion does a sterling job portraying a challenging mixed part (not going to give the plot away by being more specific because I hate that when others do it. If you are like me even a couple of words can reveal far too much and spoil suspense needlessly).I also liked the support role that Michelle Rodgriguez played in Avatar (and other films) which I thought could have been developed more, and that's partly why I wanted to see how she did in this one. I wasn't disappointed and certainly look forward to seeing her in other films where she plays lead parts. I enjoyed this film.It has my recommendation as an action film with a slightly unusual plot of medium complexity that isn't too challenging but still interesting.

Slow start and was not sure how it was going to pan iout. Stuck with it and glad I did, as it got better and better.Spoiler: I had to suspend belief of Michelle Rodriguez as a guy, but was great once I did. Had action, romance ( I think) and great twist at the end.Non of the characters were developed to the nth degree, but that probably kept the movie flowing and allowed Michelle to showcase her credentials as a scowly faced action star... circa Hamilton in Terminator.Overall a good 7.5 out of 10 movie, once I got over the early scenes.

This is an odd film. A gangster movie with a twist of fate.If it wasn't so bizzar a story, done in a comic strip/live action style, it would be completely implausible.No idea if this film was criticized on release but one thing is for certain: Much as this short but bold film has some serious home truths spoken regarding the lengthy monitored transitional process for real transgender people, in this story the gangster person, who had their physical body changed by surgical procedures, would not be up and about, jumping over counters, running after buses and getting all physical right after the surgery. All major surgeries take a long while to heal.My other gripe is that the main "guy" character was obviously the female he was going the be turned into. In other words - she didn't play as a convincing guy. Masculising make up was all wrong and so was the body shape, no matter how they filmed it. Just needed a male body suit or just real guy, and away you go. Hense the idea of the film has its interesting conceptual story line, but was unconvincing in its execution.Acting was good but not brilliant. However, the lengthy speaches by the "bad doctor", who did the experimentation of changing the guy into a girl, were impressive.The moral dellema was thought through and examined but didn't really conclude as one would expect. Rather, the story line took the route of the psychological instibility of an unethical surgeon. This too wasn't a convincing enough reason to engage in such a thing. But then if a professional with demi-god like belief in themselves needed revenge, then I guess, by actual historic accounts having been played out, this sort of thing does have its basis in some kind of reality.I think this script has merely used certain recent unconnected sensations in society and put them together to make this "what if" mish-mash of a film.All in all its a good enough gangster/revenge movie without the trans surgical bit.There are other films that have used this idea and it has worked. But this didn't.

Never really saw the twist coming

The film itself is a bit hard to understand at first but when I watched it again I can absolutely say it was very good and I can imagine there are quite a few people out there who would love to wake up like that. The acting from Michelle Rodriguez and Sigourney Weaver was at their best. Personally it is a very good film to watch it maybe not to everyones taste but it was mine. Maybe a follow up would be a good idea but we will just have to wait and see.

Where to startMichelle Rodriguez's apparent man is so unconvincing, its laughable. I very nearly didn't make through the first 10 minutes it was so bad. Sticking a plastic nose and a fake beard is not going to fool anyone. The gender swap is an intriguing premise and certainly would have had some opportunity had the script, cast and direction been up to scratch.To believe that a gender transformation operation could be performed to that scale, in a day, with no visible post surgery affects, is a tough pill to swallow. It also distracts from the atmosphere they are trying to createSigourney Weaver tries to pull off a Hannibal Lector style performance, but with such awful writing, it comes across completely flat, and looks more like she simply doesn't want to be there, which is a shame as she is usually very good in other films.The character development is poor so you never really appreciate Rodriguez's struggle to come to terms with her change, nor do you really care. The underlying reason for it just feels pointless. This could have been a stand out role for her but it doesn't deliver on any level.All in all the film is terrible. I only finished watching the film as i started, and wanted to see how bad it got - that's probably the only level this film develers on. That's just my opinion, you may enjoy it but be warned, watch it at you're own risk.

Oh, Sigourney! What on Earth are you doing in this?This film just rings untrue from the word go. Michelle Rodriguez is a shapely woman, so putting a beard on her to make her a man just does not work. The film's plot is so contrived it's painful. Shame really because there is obvious talent here.

Eigentlich ganz solide was Regie-Legende Walter Hill basierend auf einen Comic zustande gebracht hat.Vermutlich aber ein finanzieller Flop da der Film unter 2 verschiedenen Titeln im Ausland vertrieben wird und in Deutschland gar keinen Vertrieb gefunden hat
