The handle is all metal and well finished (Chrome). This replaced an 1984 American Standard handle and lever on a Plebe model toilet. The part of the handle that goes into the toilet has a square shape that perfectly fit into the toilet handle cutout. Many replacement flush handles do not match the older American Standard toilets like this one did. The lever arm has a variable geometry design (lateral and vertical) which made installation extremely easy and took only 15 minutes. The lever arm is plastic and will not experience material failure due to corrosion from water (like Zamac). Read the installation directions completely to familiarize yourself with how it works, before an you install. It is a very unique and practical design like no others. In summary, this may be the ultimate handle and flushing lever on the market today.
