Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Perfect Seat Hand Primer Seating Tool with Case for Reloading, Black

As I've aged, my old RCBS hand primer required more force than I could comfortably apply to fully seat primers. I wasn't seating some primers fully which caused some misfires (even if not a high primer, if a primer isn't seated firmly against the bottom of the pocket the chance of a misfire increases dramatically). The FrankFord primer solved the problem. Very fine machining and comfortable handgrip leverage makes seating primers a joy once again.

Dear Frankford Arsenal,Thank you!!Customer service is what makes a company Great. I had an issue with my Tool more my mistake than the product build. The tool is very well built a tank. Like you put your guitar in a case after use disable your tray from the tool if your not actively priming cases. The tray is sturdy but the tool is heavy if by chance you forgot removing the tray the heavy build of the tool can crack the neck of the tray if your tool accidentally falls over.Exact adjustments for primer seating depth is awesome. Tool build is awesome. Customer service is awesome. Frankford Arsenal fan here buy this right quick you will be happy!Frankford Arsenal, Please offer purchasing the tray by itself. I would like 1 for large and 1 for small primers and one for opps forgot to remove the tray tray.Very Happy Customer,John

Short version- BUY THIS ONE! I’ve owned about every hand priming tool on the market. The fact is they have better seating control. This Franklin Armory hand priming tool gives you perfect depth precision that is adjustable. I pulled it out of the box and primed 500 rifle brass in about 45mins. For non magnum rounds I prefer CCI and Federal primers depending on round. They tend to be softer primers that can be easily deformed even with hand primers.. but this one the tolerances are so tight.. even when the pocket is a bit small. It can still perfectly seat the primer simply by spinning the case 180 degrees if it’s pressing hard and still perfectly presses without deformation. I love this damn thing! 500 soft primers had around 30 tight case pockets.. 0 crushed or wasted primers all to perfect depth. I’m totally sold, if all of Franklin Armory’s tools are this high of quality at such a low price..I’ll start replacing all my worn equipment with their stuff.

I bought this item about 4 years ago. I worked fairly well, but seating small pistol primers at the correct depth was difficult. The tool settings just didn’t insert the primers past flush. I contacted Frankfort Arsenal customer service and explained the problem and they sent me a new set of priming pins and sleeves. It helped a bit, but the primers were still only flush or just below flush. Ideal depth is 0.003 to 0.005 inches. I recently contacted them again. The customer service agent said they were sending a package, but didn’t explain what it contained. My communications were all online through their website. My package arrived in about 4 days. It contained an entire new priming kit. It is an improved version over what I bought 4 years ago. The tool looks identical. The old version had a “mushy” feel. The new tool has a firm, definite stop point. So far it is working fine. I’ve set some 9mm and 45 auto primers to correct depths. The new case is a bit smaller and is better constructed. It has real hinges rather than just a folded plastic hinge. It takes up a bit less space on my loading bench, which is good.I’m impressed with FA’s customer service. They have always replied to my requests for service within a couple days. The fact that they replaced a defective tool after 4 years is impressive. They stand by their products. New tool is on the right in each photo.

I purchased this Frankford Arsenal Platinum priming tool last week. I really had problems with trying to seat small pistol primers allowing high primers sticking out on some. I struggled with this and even used two hands to accomplish proper seating. There is no ease in seating as you would find on a 21st Century or PMA primer seating tool. I called FA in Missouri and told them my problem and they graciously sent me a new tool. This new tool works great but the packaging tray is different. It has now a clear cover and not as large as my original. I was told that they have made many changes since it was released several years ago. I also asked if they plan to have spare priming trays available, they answered no as they are having trouble filling orders. I did purchase the RCBS spare square tray #90202 that fits perfectly as a replacement since no OEM trays exist as spares. This is a great advantage for those that don’t want to fumble with theFA primer tray slide-in-out cover that is apt to break off locking tabs with much use. So far so happy.

Had a Lee primer tool for years, was adequate. This is a big step up, my old hands appreciate the larger handle and the ease at which primers go in.
