This is the carrier that goes the distance.
As much as it pains me to say it, my toddler has outgrown my soft structured carrier. Not size-wise, because she's tiny, but she is no longer at a stage in the baby-wearing game where she's content to be kangaroo-carried down the trails. She wants to be on my back, she wants to be able to see what's going on, and she wants to be comfortable. This carrier delivers all of that and more. When we received the carrier, I was impressed with the packaging. The box was sturdy, and the handy duffel bag included for easy transportation of the carrier itself is a plus. My two-year-old Kai eagerly assisted with the opening and inspection of our new carrier, excitedly exclaiming, "My seat! My new black seat!" I was immediately impressed with the weight and durability of the carrier. When I stood it up in our living room and put Kai in it, it didn't tip or wobble. The buckles clicked into place easily enough and I didn't need to read a novel to figure out how to safely carry my child in it. The harness within the seat gave me peace of mind right off the bat as I hoisted her up and swung her around onto my back.ATTN: Any mama who has ever tried to load a feral toddler for a back carry in a Tula - This thing will change your life. Up and on. No stress. Although I don't plan to try it, I'm pretty sure you could literally hold this carrier upside down with your babe buckled in safe and tight. The main shoulder straps and buckles are easily adjustable. In our house, we have two adults who will be using the carrier. One is 5'3 and 120 lbs and the other is 5'7 and 200 lbs. In seconds, the carrier easily adjusts for a perfect fit on either body. The taller the better for this carrier, too. It rests comfortably wherever it falls, though; we didn't run into any difficulty. Our maiden excursion with the carrier involved cordwalk and off-trail hiking through forests and dunes along Lake Michigan. Kai was excited to be in her seat, and there are plenty of secure pockets to hold keys, phones, cash and first aid necessities. When we stopped to snack and rest, we propped the carrier wherever, on a variety of terrains. It didn't tip, it didn't sink and Kai wasn't desperate to climb out of it and run amok. The included hydration system is a godsend. It fits nicely right into the insulated pocket at the back of the carrier and beverages stay cold. It would also fit in the pocket near baby's belly, if that works better. We kept our cards and keys in there, though.Beneath baby's seat, there's a spacious zippered compartment containing a fold-out pad. Kai is potty trained, but I imagine the pad would be an amazing changing pad in a pinch. It would also work if you needed to stand the carrier on dubious ground, such as mud or sharp grass that you didn't want baby's feet to touch. Our girl was happy to sit on it in the sand at the beach. That compartment is big enough to also hold a pro-sized DSLR and a couple of apples. True story. After miles of uphill, downhill and soft sand hiking on a humid 90-degree afternoon, I decided to marry this carrier. My shoulders did not hurt. My back did not hurt. I felt the air flow was adequate to keep Kai and I from sweating all over one another. We were thirsty and the hydration system delivered. She wasn't able to wiggle free or jump out, and when she dozed off, the padded surrounds made a good pillow. The sun shade does its job, but we opted not to use it for long. We typically don't use them on our strollers, either, but if you are sun shade fans, it will do its job! There is no need to spend two or three times this price point on a more expensive carrier. This carrier does everything you'll need it to and more. At the end of your adventure, give it a shake to get the sand off, fold it up flat and put it in the duffel bag. It stows quick and easy, so you can spend less time messing with cleanup and more time eating Thai food. #treatyourself

Cheaply made. Low quality for price! One time use kinda carrier!
Returned this product. Not sure if my product was defective but my stand was extremely unsafe and bent. I used it a few times trying to adjust the settings and it absolutely killed my back after walking a mile. My son loved it though. He never wanted to get out after a walk. I just didn’t think it was worth the money so I returned it. I also felt like it was going to completely fall apart every time I picked it up with my son in it. Not a good feeling for a parent! I would purchase again if the price dropped and they changed the color of the main buckles to red! Every strap/buckle being black makes it a pain.

Features/quality of the expensive guys. Just buy it.
Wow. After researching backpacks that cost twice as much (Osprey, mainly), I decided on this backpack as it looked well constructed, had all of the features I was seeking, and was priced much lower. So when I opened up the bag and felt the quality of the materials/construction, I was extremely pleased that I had selected this newcomer over the "fancier" incumbents. Highly recommended.Pros:Weight - Don't know exact weight specs but felt comparable to the Osprey I tried on at REI, which is to say very light. I could definitely see myself taking LO on an all day hike with this packFeatures - Built in water pouch (like a Camelbak), sun (and rain!) shield, pockets on the waistband, and washable head/face rest.Ease - While I love how new gear I purchase is feature-laden, I don't have the time/energy (as a dad) to learn new tricks. Everything should be intuitive and the Be Mindful pack over-delivers here. There's even large font to show you which way to adjust straps and S/M/L/XL in bold lettering too.Value - half the price of comparable backpacks and the quality is on parConsColor - Nothing wrong with this black but it would be great if there were other less sun-absorbing colors (prefer blue or tan!) as we're here in 7k feet altitude.

Impossible Buckle
Great look and mostly a good design, really nice hood but impossible to get the kids in and out, the strap and buckles just are really bad and I had to return it. What good is a beautiful carrier if you can't use it?

I'm happy with my purchase
I decided to go with this model because of the price. I'm happy with my purchase. The quality is good, and it's pretty comfortable. I think if you are trying to save money on one of these things you should definitely give this one a shot. We have taken it on the trails behind our house and it works great. We purchased it for summer when we will be taking a few family camping/hiking trips and we are so excited! Our daughter is 11 months right now and she loves being in it.

I really wanted to love this backpack but I had no such luck. Now that my little one is old enough to start going on longer hikes I decided to check out a hiking backpack. After about a week of searching and reading reviews I decided on this Be Mindful brand. The reviews for this bag were mostly good and it was an affordable option so I ordered it. When it arrived I opened it right away because I was so excited. Unfortunately what I opened wasn’t any good. One of the foot stirrups was missing and one of the zippers was broken. After that point I stopped touching it afraid that it would start falling apart, the bag did not feel sturdy at all. I did end up returning it and going with a higher quality brand... I mean this bag MUST protect my little one and not be falling apart new out of the box.
