Not counting the handle or the top of the “stem” on the lid. Holds about 1 1/2 quarts **Q: Does the handle heat up to where it is hard to pour?** A: i would not recommend getting this,AT ALL! The whistle failed on me, I forgot it was on the stove, it heated up so much the handle melted and fell off starting on fire.
