About the Author (excerpted from the book) . . . I have earned degrees in philosophy, world religions, education, and three AMI Montessori diplomas. I have studied Sri Aurobindo and Teilhard de Chardin at the Asian Studies Institute in San Francisco and Tibetan Buddhism at the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives in Dharamsala, India. Books and words and lectures are not lightning, but they are a preparation. I have had an audience with the Pope, taken refuge as a Tibetan Buddhist and met the Dalai Lama. I celebrated my 6oth birthday praying for the world on the roof of the Potala in Lhasa, Tibet, and this year Sufi danced in the hot steaming Cauca Valley of Colombia, South America. The holiness I have felt in these places is very much like what I feel when I see a child finish a bit of concentrated work and then walk up to a friend and give him a hug or when a child drops a cup of beads and two or three friends automatically gather to help him pick them up. I can feel it when I watch my children pet the dogs and cats they have rescued, or when my 5-year-old granddaughter explains to me how we must all take care of our rivers.
