Wanted Green but black looks good.
Our La Fuma RSX chairs are quite old, the seating laces were wearing to green thread, elastic had broken. This set of four laces are for one chair, the 2 longer laces were the ones I needed for the seat and footrest. The smaller laces are for the back but ours are not worn. The original lace was doubled laced over the seating area and on the join to the footrest - unfortunately this lace is not long enough to do that, it's single laced all the way and is meant to double back on itself at the bottom of the footrest. However the ends of the laces have heavier plastic ends than the original so will not allow it to go back through the last metal eyelet that has elastic through it, now hangs loose! I wasn't happy with the results especially as the original elastic laces had lasted many years, if not doubled it would wear much quicker. I checked out the smaller laces, the plastic ends are like my original laces with the word 'La Fuma' written on the side and were smaller and thiner than the long lace ends. The La Fuma ends thread through the seating area and joining leg/footrest giving double elastics where the heaviest weight is. If all the plastic ends been 'La Fuma' you could double the seating area with the long elastic using the shorter elastic for the leg/foot area.

Worth it
These have given our old chairs a new lease of life. Like many others, I only used the seat replacement elastic. The picture on the back of the packet shows a straight piece where the seat joins the footrest so I figured this was the way to do it. I started where the seat joins the back and pulled the elastic through the fabric from underneath and then looped it through until I reached the start of footrest. Here I looped it through the metal 'ring' on the joint on the frame but then down instead of up through the hole in the fabric. This meant that when I reached the foot, the plastic tip was at the back of the fabric. The second side was a struggle and you think the elastic isn't long enough but keep easing it down from the beginning and it does reach without needing to miss out any rings.
