Piping Calculations Manual (Mcgraw-Hill Calculations)

Indispensable tool for PE in GA working on water/wastewater pump stations and piping projects. It is a little repetitive since the same methodology applies for water, wastewater, etc., but I still find it useful to be able to go to the specific fluid I need and get the pertinent versions of the formulas. It has just about one worked out problem example in every small section, further making this a quick, handy reference.

This has taken the place of several manuals and online tables. It's handy, accurate, and I use it almost daily in my job.

Damaged in shipping, the book was readable and the information was good. However, I returned it due to the price I paid (>US$ 110), which was high for a small-format paperback, and not wanting to have it be damaged. Amazon is shipping a replacement.

Received package with proper protection of item. Item arrived in new condition. Book had items as advertised.

this book explains the most commonly used piping calculations in a clear understandable way with good examples.

Do not recommend the kindle version. The author never once bothered to look at it, nor did any editor, because if they did they would immediately have called someone up at McGraw-Hill to tell them the equations are impossible to read. The equation font size is at least a third of the text font size. I didn't read much before I returned the book, but much of what I read struck me as pure filler material: repetitive examples one after the other demonstrating the same principles, fluid property values thrown about for no reason when introducing things like density.

The title of this book should be Pipeline Calculations Manual, since it focuses on pipeline only. Although it can be used for piping hydraulic calculations, they are slightly different and author should be accurate in title and description for the benefit of potential reader. I give 3 out of 5 to this book.
