We put one of these in our guest bedroom last summer. It works so well and is so quiet, compared to the last one we had in there, we decided to put one in our den where most all of our electronic devices are. It installed easily, and came with everything it needed to put it in. Except tools of course. It supplements our 24 year old heat pump system that's on it's last legs. Everything is nice and cool now. For being as big as it is it really is pretty quiet. When it comes on I still have to turn up the TV another notch though. I guess whenever you move a large volume of air there's always going to be some noise involved. Anyway, we're pretty happy with it, and couldn't ask for more. BTW, the last A/C we had was a Frigidaire and it lasted 14 years. Our grandparents had a large through the wall Frigidaire A/C that lasted 22 years. So we trust the brand.

First of all ,I read the reviews on here and no offense but,some of yall are not too swift . One man said it came with batteries but they were not in remote ,well yeah sor,sir, have to slide the back of remote off to insert batteries, sorry but duh.. And another said side skirts are fixed in place,um mine move side to side as to adjust for window size like they are supposed to. Anyway its a bit loud on high but hey ,ITS 14000 BTUS ,its not gonna be quiet and if it is ,it ain't working too hard . This bad boy is a step up for us from the 8000 btu model ( which is great too ) just moved and need a bigger coverage area . So we are putting the 8000 in bedroom. Both are Fridgadre and I will NEVER by another brand AC unit . They are the best . And while I just got this unit and can't comment on durability ,I can say the 8000 still works like new and its made it threw 4 summers of 24 hour a day run time. Fridgadre IS THE BEST,DONT EVEN QUESTION WHETHER TO BUY THIS MODEL,JUST BUY IT,YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED. Oh one more thing ,it was so easy to install ,I use a cane to walk and I put it in by myself . And some may wonder about window fitting. It does fit in smaller windows better than most big ac units but make sure YOU READ THE PRODUCT SPECS AS ADVERTISED SIZE IS WRONG ...ITS ABOUT 17 AND A HALF INCHES TALL,,ABOUT 24 INCHES FROM FRONT TO BACK AND WITHOUT SIDE SKIRTS ITS ABOUT 20 INCHES WITH SKIRTS ITS ABOUT 24 AND A HALF INCHES SIDE TO SIDE....BUY THIS UNIT,YOU WILL THANK YOURSELF DURING NEXT HEAT WAVE

This is a huge machine. It took a lot of energy to get it into the window. And then it would not turn on no matter what I did. I called and they said ‘will send a text link for live chat’ - no text arrived - I tried multiple times. I reached a person over the phone - a dolt from a far away country … no disrespect, but I could barely understand what she said. She knew nothing about the machine and could only direct me to Amazon for a refund. At the end of our conversation she said there was a tech number. I called it and -no - it was only a number to arrange for a repair visit.Well, thank god for amazon - arranged for refund and hauled the super heavy machine to ups.Will get a new air conditioner - it will not be a frigidaire.

Works great. Cools quickly. Awesome for small windows! Love that I can program a schedule from my phone and update as needed. The only improvement I could hope for would be that it doesn’t beep when I make an adjustment for my phone. This is in our daughter’s room and if I adjust the temperature from my phone while she’s sleeping, it does make an audible beep in the room.

As far as cooling and features and installation, it's no different than the countless other window A/C's I've owned, used, and installed. It cools fine. But the fan is pretty loud. I can stand it on low, but even medium makes anything you have to listen to impossible within 20 feet. I get window a/c's are loud, but this is really loud. I just installed it the farthest away from the TV and things as possible..not much of an issue that way. I'm not unhappy with it, but neither am I shouting it's praises to the heavens either. I will say it look's good, so there's that. The remote is a joke, not that I care or will ever use it. And I'm still convinced it will break down within a year because of the fancy crap they put in it to sell it to the uneducated masses, it might surprise me though...but I doubt it..they build them to break nowday's.

Super easy to install, works great cooling off our master bedroom, hallway and room across the hall. The noise level isn’t that loud but does change pitch occasionally with temperature. The efficiency cooling off was important to me so the sound did not bother us. I’m guessing if a light sleeper, it may not be the best choice but as far as performance goes you can’t go wrong.

Going on 3 months and so far so good. I set it on energy saving at 75/76 degrees and it easily cools my one bedroom apartment. It is a louder unit, I have to turn it off occasionally when I am on the phone but given the heat wave we’re having I have no complaints. Good price.

I never had a new AC window unit before, only used an old, and noisy and 5000 BTU only. For almost 10 years, and I had 2 of them, one on my kitchen window, one on my living room/bedroom windows.I live in a studio apartment, it does have 4 windows, all on one side, but the sun makes it so hot, despite my curtains, also, allergies, noise from the neighbors, birds, and the smell of gas from a nearby street during the morning rush hour. I can't live with the open windows, also I can't stand humidity and Chicago is always humid.Last year when I was taking off my old AC's I dropped one of them and what a good riddance. I kept my eye on AC's on AMAZON and got this one, 10 000 BTU weeks ago but just got it installed yesterday. I think I paid $295, and I have no regrets at all. I'm glowingOMG what a difference it makes. It doesn't have much sound, but it's very powerful. I have an issue with humidity, so last night I set it up on 72 and dry mode, and after so long I enjoyed my place so fresh, clean and dry air and I slept so well and I didn't wake up with swollen eyes as usual.For less than $300 I will now enjoy my place for months, and my privacy. I love the remote so I can control it from my bed, while I'm watching TV. No more sweating at night or frizzy hair at home. I love it.
