It makes excellent coffee if you use good beans. I got it since I'm a bit of a coffee addict and I don't really mind that it only brews 1 large cup of coffee at a time.

Compact but flavorful. I am impatient and speed through manual hand pouring. This does all the work for me and it makes the coffee tastes so much better. I am a Black Dark Roast coffee drinker. This would work for any coffee connoisseur. If you are thinking about it, just get it. No regrets. You will look forward to your mornings! This is a very simple yet elegant solution to automated coffee drip. Simple minimalist. I had previously used the manual Chemex Drip but I developed carpal tunnel syndrome and looked for an automatic drip coffee machine. I was deciding between Chemex Ottomatic vs Balmuda. I went with Balmuda because I am one person. Also, I had previously broken three Chemex glasses while washing them after use. I am not the most delicate person so I went with this stainless steel carafe that also will keep my coffee warm. This Balmuda at most makes 2 cups Americano or 3 cups Espresso at one go. You can set it to 1-3 European sized cups. It’s perfect for one person. Having said that, it’s easy to make a few more pots since it is automatic. I have included pictures below with an electric kettle and MySoda machine for sizing. I also used my leftover Chemex’s coffee filters hence it looks oversized. It came with a few sample filters. Happy with the purchase and I also own a Balmuda Toaster.

In my search for the perfect coffee machine, i've been through several. Finally found this one which checks all the boxes. It's compact, simple, consistent, easy to operate, easy to clean and looks like an art piece on the kitchen counter. Before i purchased, I did see 1 video which had dramatic ticktock music and steam surging out and thought that was all marketing. After the easy plug an play, it was like a show. The orange light goes on, the ticktocking is really the machine, like it's talking to you. Then, the show continues as the steam really does surge, pause, surge... quite entertaining and feels suspenseful. If they made one that brewed 4 cups, I would have opted for that, but it's so easy, to brew, I can make 2 pots wwith ease. Highly recommend Overall, I couldn't be happier.

I purchased my brew from Amazon last July. It worked perfectly for nearly 11 months. One morning I turned the unit on and all the lights started blinking and an alarm intermittently buzzed. I consulted the owners manual and it said that if this happens there is a fault inside the machine. I called the Balmuda service department phone number and it was answered by an automated voice that said that I should leave a message. I received a follow on call, but was not home when the call came. I called back repeatedly and left messages at their service number, but never received a call back. I submitted a request for service on their web site and received an email with a claim number. I also received repeated messages from Balmuda informing me that they had requested more information from me. I received no such message requesting additional information and informed them by email of that fact. I received another message requesting a video of the fault lights blinking. I sent the video 4 times after I kept getting no response from them. They did not answer any of my emails and would not call me back after they left the first message on my answer phone. My conclusion is that they are probably stalling until the warrantee expires in the middle of July, 2024. This is a high priced machine and I expected that they would honor their warrantee. The bottom line is that I paid hundreds of dollars for a machine that lasted 11 months. Buyer beware!

I have to laugh at some of the comments in other reviews. "It's very expensive." I sold my $3500 automatic and bought this for $629. It makes a better cup of coffee, and I'm way happier with it. "It basically just pours water over coffee grounds." No, it does much more than that, go look at some youtube reviews about the technology. There isn't a drip machine out there that can make coffee this well, especially one that costs $50. I would have to ask what kind of coffee is that person drinking. "It makes coffee about the same as my french press." Duh, but that's completely manual. This might be the easiest way to get pour over or french press quality coffee. I love it. Sure, you can make only one 12oz coffee at a time, but that's the point. Every cup is freshly made. Definitely not for the person looking for a 12 cup drip machine. This is for the coffee lover that has been doing pour over but tired of standing there doing it. It makes a great cup each and every time.

We love this coffee pot - it not only makes delicious coffee every time, it is aesthetically beautiful and not bulky. I have recommended it to many of my friends already. We also like the fact that it makes delicious coffee without having to mess with whole beans. (You can, we prefer not to) The only downside I can see is that it may not work well for a large family. It makes 2 cups of coffee with each cycle. That said, the coffee is so easy to make, its essentially perfect coffee on demand, all day long, without having to make a huge pot. Highly recommend!

It’s a really good product. Pour Over Coffee has become an art as this machine has achieved that level.

This is great for those who make coffee for 1 or 2. Simple and easy to use and clean.
