From her mid- 70’s association with the massively successful group Rufus through her own dazzling solo career, eight time Grammy winner Chaka Khan has achieved legendary status thanks to classics like ‘I’m Every Woman,’ ‘I Feel For You,’ ‘Through The Fire’ and, through her final reunion with Rufus in 1982, the timeless dance anthem ‘Ain’t Nobody.’ This 2CD collection features massive hits from the Queen of Funk including the massive UK #1 hit; the Prince penned ‘I Feel For You’ and ‘Fate’ which was sampled by Stardust on their massive hit single ‘Music Sounds Better With You’ which reached # 2 in the UK Charts & # 1 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Chart. Chaka Khan has had no fewer than 22 Grammy nominations 10 of which she has won.

Excellent compilation
This is a much-needed overview of Chaka Khan's solo career. Both "Epiphany" and "The Platinum Collection" covered the major hits, but left out minor hits and fan favourites. This collection from Demon Music Group does an excellent job of covering the hits along with album tracks. All the big hits are here: "I'm Every Woman" and "Ain't Nobody" are featured in their original versions, plus the dance remixes featured on Chaka's 1989 remix album; "I Feel For You" and "Through the Fire" are also included. Finally, we get a compilation which features "Clouds", "Love Me All My Lifetime", "Love of a Lifetime" and Chaka's cover of Michael Jackson's "Got To Be There". An "essential" Chaka compilation would be incomplete without these songs. "Life is a Dance", "Roll Me Through the Rushes", "We Can Work It Out" and "It's My Party" are welcome additions. We even get the B-side of "What'cha Gonna Do For Me" called "Lover's Touch". There's also a generous sampling of Chaka's jazz output, including "I'll Be Around" featuring Miles Davis, "Don't Go To Strangers" (with Rufus), and "End of a Love Affair" (but nothing from Chaka's "Echoes of an Era" collaboration).I should note that the copy I received was a bit confusing. On the back of the slip cover, there is a different tracklisting (an error which is also included in the credits in the inlay). It notes the Rufus/Chaka live version of "Tell Me Something Good" as the first track on Disc Two and omits "Fate", but this is wrong; the tracklisting on Amazon is indeed the correct listing. This may have been a last-minute decision to omit "Something Good" and feature "Fate", but it's a smart one since "Fate" is a great track. The sound is decent and the price is a bargain. Highly recommended.

Love it / Lover her 👍👍👍
For me, one of the greatest and soulful female voices. All her greatest hits are included, hits such as I'm Every Woman, I Feel For You, Through The Fire and my all time favourite - Ain't Nobody. For me, Chaka Khan is my Queen of Soul. Her voice remains both dynamic and memorable. This album / Chaka Khan is a must have !!

Why did I buy Chaka Khan.
I chose this rating because number one Chaka is Brill, number 2 I like to feel I have contributed to the secular system of purchasing in the most economic way for me yet profitable fro several, money makes the world go around as they say and finally I rate Amazon the best!

For the price this is a relatively comprehensive album which I enjoy. However it did spur me on to buy 'Live Stompin' At The Savoy' - an album which I used to own on tape (!!!!) and loved, which this album had a few songs from which really ignited my desire to be able to listen to all of the songs which I remembered from back in the day, however 'Live Stompin' At the Savoy' was considerably more expensive so I guess this double album is a great place to start. It certainly has a lot of tunes on it that I had never heard before. Overall - good value for the price !

The Soundtrack of my Life
My love affair with Chaka began in 1975. Don't get me wrong. I am a 66 year old black man who has been hopelessly in love with the same man for 35 years and counting. I was a student at the University of Tennessee in the fall of 1975. Rufus performed at the student union. A young lady I was dating at the time & I got sro spaces in front of 2 massive speakers. I probably have permanent hearing loss from that show. I knew I was witnessing the birth of a supernova one Chaka Khan. The 70's had my favorite cousin & I attending 2 Chaka Khan concerts in my hometown of Louisville Kentucky. This cousin passed away a couple of years ago and I dearly miss her. I had really built up this new talent to my cousin. Unfortunately, this was the time when Chaka was dealing with her demons. She frequently pushed the microphone out to the audience for them to sing. After 2 trys, I thought I was done with her. But she managed to redeem herself to me. With a string of megahits, I, once again, became a megafan. She can do it all. In the mood to dance, put on Chaka. In the mood for romance, put on Chaka. She is your one stop shop for incredible music. The essential is a great Chaka collection. Long live the Queen!

懐かしさが募って
大学時代によく聞いたチャカ。ベスト盤がお買い得だったので買ってしまいました。音質も向上して大満足です。当時はルーファスもよく聞いてたので、そちらのベストも欲しいものです。

the queen of Funk.

I`m every woman

A GREAT COLLECTION FROM CHAKA
I am a big fan of Chaka Khan and this collection was on my wish list for a while. The only thing if I have to make a complaint is that this collection did not include "Tight Fit". This was a single from her "Destiny" album that I thought should have done better in sales and on the charts. Otherwise than that...This is a must purchase.
