Knightly 5 ⭐️
Fantastic and very engaging story, ending up devouring the story in a matter of hours over the weekend. This is the first book I am reading by Louise Bay and I enjoyed her writing style and how beautifully the story flows . A perfect opposite attracts situation. Alexander is a swoon worthy workaholic barrister and Violet is his sassy assistant. I enjoyed their banter, chemistry and overall story. After finishing this book I went back and bought the other two books Kings of Wall Street & Duke of Manhattan as I enjoyed Scarlet and Max character in this story and realized they already have their own stories. I hope We will be getting Darcy’s story next . This one is definitely a must recommend!

Loved this
Once I started The British Knight, I didn’t want to put it down. I love this author’s books and this one was no exception. I loved Violet. She’d been cheated badly a few years ago, both in her relationship and business. It had changed her direction in life and left her living more in the moment, rather than planning ahead. After stalling in her life, she takes the offer from one of her friends to go to the UK and do three months work there. That’s where she meets barrister Alexander Knight. He’s the workaholic of workaholics. Driven to prove himself because of his father’s achievements. He doesn’t really need to prove himself, but he feels he has to and the man doesn’t give himself any time off at all.The attraction between him and Violet is instantaneous. When they finally act on it, it’s hot and sexy.Overall, I loved this. It had a bit of everything. It was funny at times, emotional, sexy and hot. When Alexander gets distracted by work at a time when he shouldn’t have, it begins the path to destruction. Violet’s never pushed him to spend time with her, but he realises the hard way, that he’s a selfish man and driven for all the wrong reasons.I wanted to slap him sometimes, and hug him too. Loved this.

I have to go read this again...it was that Good!
This book sizzles from the beginning. Louise Bay has done it again! Well Done Louise! The long awaited Violet finally finds her NOT WANTED Knight in Shining Armor. I swear Violet was so hard headed I was screaming at her "Just Go!! Just Go To London!! Take The Hint!!" But I know at times I am just as hard headed...Great Character! And Alexander had so much tunnel vision, Violet finagled him out of his tunnel in just the perfect way.Not only was I thinking...Just Kiss Already!!...but you made me laugh quite a few times. I highlighted a couple that made me laugh..."I didn't know his first name, but I knew how long it took him to pee. It felt like a small victory." - Violet"Put me down, Violet," she said. "Anyone would think you'd just been released from prison." - Darcy (Can't wait for Darcy's story)I am a loyal fan and subscribe to your Facebook Readers Group. When you were writing this you posted one day that you felt your readers were going to hate you for the scene you just wrote for Violet. I knew exactly which scene it was and I have to admit...I was literally screaming at Violet. I was slightly mad at you too! ;) But you redeemed yourself with the remaining book!

Loved it!
I love romance novels! I read the earlier books in this series with mixed results, didn’t care for the first two, loved the last one. The premise of this book was mildly intriguing - young American woman looking for adventure travels to England, goes to work in law chambers, and falls for a barrister. The heroine, Violet King, was compelling - pretty, smart, and sassy, if a bit scarred. The hero, Alexander Knightley, was also compelling - handsome, smart, and driven, but unavailable. They had great chemistry and plenty of sizzle. The storyline was straightforward and predictable, but the writing style was so good that it kept the story moving. Overall, I loved it, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Darcy’s book is as good as Scarlet’s and Violet’s!

Perfect read after a long slump
I haven’t read in quite some time and as soon as I saw this blurb I instantly one-clicked. And although it was a little different then what my brain thought it would be—people in their twenties—it turned out so much better than I had originally hoped for. Perfect after not reading for a long time. I couldn’t put this book down. And I missed two or three other couples. <merry Christmas to me right?> the story took me to beautiful England and the sexy mr. Knightley. This book had charm, sweetness and the fun times were sexy to read. Wink. Very strong characters who made me feel all emotions. I just loved this book. And I’ve never read from this author before so that’s pretty cool. Definitely getting the paperback!!!

Alexander and Violet
This was a great book. Alex was so driven. All he did was work. His marriage failed because he only worked and resented spending time with his wife. They have been separate for 3 years. Violet is brought in to help Alex. He is years behind in his billing and his office is a mess with towers of paper. Violet is his perfect match in everything and Alex realizes he doesn’t mind spending time with her and enjoying life since Violet is in London for the first time. The start to really get close to each other but Violet’s time in London is coming to an end what will that do. Read it to find out.

Great bed time stories
My most recent Bay book and as usual, it is superb. I listen to some of her books over and over on audible. Great bed time stories...they help me fall asleep and if I awaken during the night, lull me back. Not boring at all, just good love stories with fairly predictable "boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy finds girl again" scenarios. Hero and heroine are likable, sizzling sex, developing love, just the perfect love story.

Knightly.....
Alexander and Violet.....love them both. They were definitely as we say opposite attracts. First meeting on the subway, only to be his assistant he didn’t know about. The attraction was mutual immediately. They take you on a emotional roller coaster of attraction, lust, sex, disappointments and love... a page turner. I’m loving this series. Does Darcy find love too?

Pure BLISS!! Violet and Alexander are PERFECT!
If you are an incurable romantic like me, then you are going to L.O.V.E The British KnightAlexander Knightley is without a doubt The Knight in the shiny armour- He is British, freaking sexy, successful- in a nutshell he is Prince Charming!Yes, we all know that the perfect prince does not exist but trust me the perfect Knight does and his name is ALEXANDER KNIGHTLEY.Alex is used to getting what he wants, and everybody at the Chambers fears him apart from the bubbly sassy American girl who turned his world upside down and cracked his armour.Violet King is looking for a purpose in life. After a bad break up ( this is an understatement by the way), she has lost her drive to succeed, her enthusiasm and any faith in the mankind. After leaving job as a waitress , she does not know what to do next, until Darcy suggests that she goes to London with her and stays at her house for free.Violet seized the day and not only moved across the pond but also landed herself a job- assistant to Mr Knightley. She had been hurt and had no room for love or a relationship.“He was gruff, antisocial, and sexy as hell.”Alexander Knightley is the one that everyone fears- He is a workaholic- his work is his life and he lives for his work. He has no time for anything else. I loved him from the very beginning! His interactions with Violet were endearing, funny and swoon worthy. The attraction between them was sizzling but they were more than that. Violet changed him… but did she change him for the better?“The girl was dissolving my focus, my control, my defenses.”Can Alexander have his career and a relationship? Will Violet stay in London indefinitely?“ if anyone is capable of having everything they want, it’s you.”The secondary characters- The King Clan- that we met in the other books, The King Family were there supporting each other and made this story even more endearing. It was good to meet the King of Wall Street again. I love Louise Bay’s books and covers- they always make my heart melt and put a big smile on my face. I am without a doubt addicted to her words, and get high on the chemistry between the characters. Violet is my favourite heroine of hers! The British Knight had all the angst, wit, drama, dilemmas, passion and romance that a great book should have. It was perfect for moi!“We’re dancing?” she asked, grinning up at me. “It’s being here in Berkeley Square, with you. We have to dance cheek to cheek and listen for nightingales.”

Violet's story is everything and more...
Oh I love these two! Both strong, stubborn and in need of a little fun. I devoured the book in 2 days, which is my usual for a Louise Bay book.Having it set in my favourite city was a great bonus, I could picture myself taking the routes they took through London as I've done them many a time.I've been impatiently waiting for Violet's story and it didn't disappoint. She meets her match in Alexander... Boy does she meet her match! Both give as good as they get (*ahem*) so it makes for an interesting read with plenty of ups and downs along the way. Neither are perfect and have to work and fight for what they truly want.I loved the characters, the story and the setting. Alex and Violet are well written characters that draw you in. If you have audible, I highly recommend the audio book also... trust me, you won't be disappointed!I'm now impatiently waiting for the next Louise Bay instalment.

OMG! I'm in love with Violet and Alexander! I think I may have a new Louise Bay favourite!
OMG! I'm in love with Violet and Alexander! I think I may have a new Louise Bay favourite!"His voice was like creme brulee - silky smooth with a hint of gravel. Yum. I'd lick the bowl if I had a dishful of him."Violet King lives in the moment. After a disastrous love affair, she flits from job to casual job, and she's nowhere near realising her full potential. When the opportunity to take a break from her current life presents itself, she's on the next plane to London, and on her way to a new temporary job."Women rarely caught my attention, but she was not only beautiful. There was something exotic about her, something that made me want to know more."Alexander Knightley lives and breathes his work. He's a total workaholic with a singular purpose: to be the best at his job. His father's legacy is a shadow of expectation that hangs over him, which is both a curse and something to be proud of. When Violet blows into his life, her beauty and vibrancy has him distracted and questioning what he really wants out of life."I wanted to please him. I wanted him to want me. I wanted him to fantasize about his hand up my skirt"This novel was so romantic and sexy! Violet and Alexander are complete opposites in so many ways, but so alike in others. I felt such a thrill of excitement from the first moment they met. The tension between them was tangible."The girl was dissolving my focus, my control, my defenses."I loved Violet's breezy, gutsy ways. She's utterly charming and has a heart of gold. Alexander's reputation precedes him as tough, taciturn, and difficult. I loved his dirty thoughts about Violet and how she affects him from their first meeting - the way she has him acting out of character. He demonstrated very clearly how much space she occupied in his mind. In turn, I enjoyed how Alexander also changes Violet and her view of the world, and makes her see herself in a new light. This was such a FABULOUS book. I completely ADORED it!! Thoroughly, thoroughly recommend it.

Perfect!
When Violet gets an offer to stay in London for a while she grabs it, as life in New York at the moment sucks. So she hops on a plane ready for a challenge. And that's exactly what she gets when she accepts a job working with the brooding, workaholic barrister Alexander Knightley. Let the fun begin! For me this book is perfect in every way. There's nothing I didn't like about it. Violet and Alexander are great characters and the storyline is fab. I also loved catching up with the characters from previous books. And of course now I'm hoping it's Grace's turn next to find love. I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed!
