Has replaced my main shovel – excellent all-purpose tool
I bought this as a portable shovel for its compactness (to throw in the car on wintery, snowy days). But in fact it has replaced my main shovel now, I've used it for mixing mortar and many garden/DIY tasks. I actually prefer it to a full size shovel, why? Because its short strong build gives you excellent leverage when working with heavy/wet substances like concrete or damp soil. Having owned this 4 years now I'd say it has proved its quality and durability and has turned out to be excellent value.

Brilliant turd tosser
I purchase this half size shovel for throwing dog turds into the wilderness down my garden. I was using a plastic shovel from my boys beach bucket and spade but he was co planning it’s smelled bad. This is the perfect solution. Light enough to use one handed and launch the dog Eggs down the garden into the fertiliser patch

For smaller jobs
Glad to have seen this on the web site. Perfect for small garden jobs but which slightly too big a task for hand trowel to do. Good also for working in tight spaces when one is on hands and knees. Good value especially in comparison to the amount of jobs it will be destined to do.

Mini Square Nosed Shovel
A short while ago I purchased its little sister _ the round nosed shovel. After trundling it about in the boot of my hatch-back and putting it to a variety of different uses I decided to buy the squared nosed shovel. Both shovels share the same qualities. They are super-light and will take virtually no space in the boot of a car. They are a handy emergency snow shovel. I use them a lot for shovelling peat from peat bags to my large plant pots. I use these shovels one handed as one would use a garden trowel. They are just as handy as the old army entrenching tools I use to keep in the boot of my car. However, even though they are very handy I don't think that they are as robust.

Good value
Best thing I've bought in a long time....just the right size and weight for a 'little old lady' like me! Cleared my paths of moss in no time and easy to dig a smallish hole; so much easier for me than a full sized spade.

Well..
I am very, very mixed on this product. On the one hand it was a good price, it does the job and is an attractive model of this shovel. On the other hand, The shovel which is meant to be brand new arrived in ripped packaging with half of the shovel exposed and with scratches? Its also much smaller than I expected and can be hard to dig with. Overall I am dissapointed with the condition of the shovel on arrival but it seems to be strong in itself and as of yet no other problems. I would say way it up for yourself, if you want a small sterdy shovel it will fit the bill if you want a large shovel which arrives in perfect condition then look elcewhere.

Absolutely Brilliant
This is fantastic. I bought two for use by my daughters (11 & 13yrs) on the beach. We dig really big stuff on the beach (I use a full-size garden spade), so they needed something of a suitable size for them. This shovel is roughly 2ft long and has a very sturdy and rigid steel head about the size of a large man's hand with fingers spread, and has a comfortable full-size handle. It's light, but seems rugged too. After we've been on holiday, I'll definitely keep one in the boot of my car and the other in the garage for use in the garden. It's brilliant - basically a half-size version of the real thing, properly made, not a toy.
