I got this to replace the stainless strainer I was using at work, I thought that I could taste the metal on 2nd steepings.This works very well, although it will leave more sediment in my cup that the fine mesh strainer did, I can live with that.One thing I would suggest is putting more/smaller holes in this, and as far as the lip on the bottom of the insert, I would maybe make that a little taller and notch it so the liquid that runs out has somewhere to go.Otherwise, this works nicely.The handle is very comfortable, and in case the images don't show it, there are 4 columns of holes, as well as holes on the bottom of the insert.

I like and recommend this product because at the time of my purchase this was the best item I could find on Amazon. To my knowledge, the porcelain glaze causes keeps stains on the surface of the glaze while stains in ceramic cups go inside the pores of the ceramic. The benefits of porcelain are superior to metal as well, if you are not using it for traveling. Metals can leech into liquids causing liquids to have a metallic taste. I drink tea at home using this product and though there are stains that should be removed immediately rather then let rest and be harder to remove, overall I think it's the best there is. Wash your tea cup right after you finish drinking because leaving the tea at the bottom or some residue of it will likely be the cause of stains afterward. Stains can appear on the sides as well and some may be harder to remove. However I have removed any visible stains, even the harder ones that have been left to sit for a while. I've used all the parts included but since I only use tea bags I've stopped using the lid, the bottom as well as the strainer.

I got this as a gift for a tea-loving co-worker. When I took it out of the box I thought it was SO cute. Exactly as I expected. My only complaint is that the tea strainer’s holes are a little big and some smaller tea leaves could slip through. It is not as effective as the metal or mesh ones in other sets. But I couldn’t pass on the style of this set!

I ordered this for myself. Ive never used such a cup before. Im more accustomed to the metal strainers for loose tea. However, this one lets "some" of the leaves through the holes. I assume this is normal. It is not a big deal, just unexpected as the holes are tiny. Dont let this dissuade you from buying it. It is really nice. I use it a few times each day.

I love this ensemble..tea cup with lid & saucer and the convenient loose tea strainer. It is a perfect one cup size. It has a sturdy feel although the fit of the handle’s single hole may not fit everyone’s finger(??) The design of the gold dragon is beautiful and the colors are clear & bright. It’s a beautiful piece of art and almost too pretty to use. I love the two I purchased (blue & red) and will treasure them for every time I have Chinese tea with my Chinese take-out!!

We're pretty happy with these. I would have liked something a little sleeker and more modern looking, but the black set here is not bad, and my main goal was to avoid tea bags with their plastic content, and the mesh balls and so forth that are harder to clean out than these porcelain cups. That said, the holes here are bigger, so it's not uncommon to find some plant matter in your tea. It doesn't bother me, though.

This is a beautiful porcelain tea cup set, complete with cup, lid, saucer and strainer. I love the lotus flower and bird design on it, and the fact that there's an included strainer with it so I can brew my loose tea with the cup. The only 'drawback' to it is since the strainer is made of porcelain, it's thick enough that you don't have as much tea left when you remove it, especially if you use some blends that require a lot of leaves. But that's not anything to detract a star.

Cup fits easy in my hand and is comfortable to grab. Design of the infuser has slightly large holes and sometimes the loose leaf does get into the cup and I've had to take a leaf out of my mouth, but it's a minor thing and I won't super hold it against the product as it could be a little bit of user error. Would definitely recommend and would make a beautiful gift!
