So my neighbors daughters uncles cousin's laptop had a broken key, and I offered to help them get it fixed. I found several sites selling individual keys, so I thought that just might be the way to go. Unfortunately, after removing the individual key I found that the keyboard membrane itself was defective, so replacing the key, or rubber dome would not fix it.This keyboard was reasonably priced, and although it has a matte finish and a different texture, the button presses all feel and function the same. I do not know how others have managed to buy this keyboard, and then complain that it is a matte finish, when it is obvious from the pictures and description. The OEM shiny black keyboard is more than 3x the cost, so this is a great deal.

This product saved me the cost of a computer. I was first trying to replace the broken keys on my keyboard but later discovered and bought this. Nice quality and delivered on time. Well packaged too as it is fragile. A possible link to a video of how to install this could help buyers a lot and improve sales too. Youtube has a video but nowhere close to what needs to be done in reality. I figured most of it (being an engineer) but wish had a video before breaking one of the screws. You want to take it nice and easy while installing it.The key is to find all the screws that holds the keyboard down. Overall very good product.

Make sure you have chosen the laptop model and matching keyboard properly. Also the polished/shiny keyboard is very different from the matte one so make sure you've selected the correct option. Installation is simple if you're familiar with changing laptop parts. If not, there are several online videos to help so this can be a DIY job. Budget for about 15-30 minutes. It fits perfectly and is working perfectly so far. No complaints

keyboard is not OEM. it does have correct keys and in proper positions, but the color is dark gray matte and textured with off white (almost gray) key markings, (should be piano gloss black smooth with brilliant white key markings). looks ugly seeing two colors now and two textures. if i could find the right one at a great price like this one was, i would buy it and return this ugly one.it does fit fine and types ok too.if looks don't, matter than this fits the bill.i wish seller would have mentioned the differences between his and OEM (stock) before i wasted my time on it!

A little person I know is fascinated with plucking small letters off my girlfriend's laptop keyboard. Although her ability to recognize the letters had expanded dramatically, it had become increasingly difficult to navigate a digital world sans many of those letters. This particular replacement was a perfect fit. With a little help from a small screwdriver and an online tutorial I was able to replace the damaged keyboard without much effort.The previous keyboard differs in that it had a glossy finish. Personally, I felt it had a habit of looking pretty gross. The Matte finish looks better and the tactile feedback fells much better too. All in all a great replacement.

Excellent replacement keyboard - really keen on the matte finish - no more greasy-looking keys! Also, very nice tactile feel to keystrokes - reminds me of an old IBM Selectric. Installation was somewhat complicated by my unfamiliarity with the "membrane"-type 26pin harness. It was a bit tricky to unloosen the locking pin located on the motherboard connection housing, as several of the YouTube DIY videos didn't really specify the manner with which the pin is manipulated to free the old harness - one simply rotates it 90deg. WITHOUT removing it from the housing, which I inadvertently did. Outside of that, perfect operation once installed.

It was easy to install once we found the right screws to remove. Watched videos on how to change the keyboard on the model we have but for some reason ours was a little different and had to remove something that wasn't shown in the video. Once we found it the keyboard change went very easy.

I bought this keyboard to replace on a DV6-1355DX. When i opened the package the "DELETE" button was missing. I will try to put the key on from the old keyboard and will update my review. Hats horrible to receive an incomplete key board that's labeled as "NEW". I Ordered from Acepurchase Inc so hopefully they will provide customer service if not I will be returning the keyboard for a refund. I will update about the issue.Update: The seller has sent me a replacement with all pieces intact. The seller and product have been great!!!
